Defeated Sanity is pretty good. Did anyone mention Aborted yet? Their drummer is a fucking monster.
I’m not really into death metal, but pig destroyer and agoraphobic nosebleed are two of the craziest bands I’ve ever heard.

I do like Aborted’s new album, yes I am that lame.

What do you guys think about the Florida Death Metal Scene? Most of those bands sound pretty similar imo.
I dig Merciful Faith, (kind of a Priest feel).
A real quick look at my collection:
Bathory, Behemoth, Bolt Thrower, Celtic Frost, Children of Bodom, Coroner, Destruction, Emperor, Kreator, ect.
Florida Death Metal = the tits
I mean Morbid Angel and Death came from that scene, how wouldn’t that be awesome?
mercyful fate - - YouTube
Agreed. Fla metal is the king! I used to hang out w/ Trey from Morbid (he was dating a friend of mine). I still hang out w/ Ben from Nasty Savage/Gardy Loo! (I know, they’re thrash, not death) every now and then.
I’ve always been more into thrash. I was huge into the first wave of thrash-Slayer, Metallica, Megadeath, Anthrax, Exodus, Testament, Destruction, etc… (Current faves are Warbringer, The Absence, Divine Heresy, and Death Angel) I do like some Death metal, mainly Dimmu Burgir & Amon Anarth, etc…(if they can be called Death Metal)
I H8 Metal. Our relationship has been a lie. I’m sorry. Still love me?
This thread was a great idea! Thank you! Keep em coming.
Please sir, can I have some more?
Decrepit Birth - …And Time Begins
Immolation - Father, You’re Not a Father
Spawn of Possession - Church of Deviance
Disavowed - Biased Existence
Psycroptic - The Colour of Sleep
This is the type of Death Metal that normally listen to.
Death - Lack of comprehension
Cynic- Evolutionary Sleeper
Atheist - Air
Odious Mortem - The Endless Regression of Mind
Suffocation - Liege Of Inveracity
^That first riff started a whole new generation of death metal
…and of course
Cannibal Corpse - I Cum Blood

Great picks there… Spawn of Possession and Psycroptic have been favorites of mine for a while, and I like Disavowed. I really wish they had some decent production values on their cd, though. They’re mixed so badly…
I used to be into DM. Now the only band from this genre I can stand seems to Entombed and even that’s only when I’m training.
In Finland metal seems to be the number one youth culture so I’m no exception. Some Finnish DM bands I used to (!) listen to: Deathcain, Impaled Nazarene, Demilich, Total Devastation, Rotten Sound, and Torture Killer. All A-class, picked from my old last.fm list.
Actually one other name besides Entombed I still enjoy is Rytmihäiriö but that is not so much about the music. The humour they associate with the music is excellent. Too bad you won’t understand it!
One more thing that comes to mind about this subject is the way it’s discussed in the internet. It pissed me off then and it still pisses me off how so many people have their existance tied around arguing about labeling a band to specific genre. Use metal-archives.com and shut the fuck up about it already!

I agree. I’m guilty of being a “genre snob” at times too, but I swear these World of Warcraft playing, fat, obese metal heads that live in mom’s basement see 1 difference in sound in a band and make up a brand new genre on the spot.
“Hey look, Gorerotted used a tympani in one song, that now makes them “Orchestral DeathCore”!!”
Lame. Too much genrification.
I grew up on Swedish Metal, favorite bands are Opeth, In Flames and Katatonia.
Of course, others in my arsenal are [b]Samael, Skinlab, Vampire Moose, S.O.D, Soilent Green, Soilwork, Shai Halud, Slayer, Meshuggah, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Daughters, The Locust, Cryptopsy, Amon Amarth, In Ruins, Shark Ethic, The Black Dahlia Murder, among many many others…
