Anyone ever check out Krisiun? Probably one of the more brutal bands ever created, and it’s a three-piece from Brazil. One of their better songs is Hateful Nature or Ageless Venemous. Check 'em out.

No one’s mentioned Pig Destroyer yet…

Well I’m dissappointed with Krisun, their last album, Assingheysuck, well blew.

I’m not into Pig Destroyer, or that vein of Grind, but I like this song.

Yeah it’s true, their (Krisiun) newest album wasn’t incredibly, but it’s hard to top Ageless Venemous.

It’s a little lighter and less brutal than some afforementioned DM bands, but anyone listen to All Shall Perish? They can fucking rip, and their vocalist is really, really, really talented.

I’m starting to think there should be a Deathcore thread.

Maybe, but ASP is a hell of a lot closer to being death metal than King fucking Diamond.

The fact is, is sub-genre labeling that is just dumb. As long as it sounds good, is it really a big deal to differentiate between death metal and death core? Bands will cross genre boundries, that’s how music evolves.

Yeah… I have their cd, but I can’t say I’ve really listened to it much more than one or two times, though. They’re not all that hard though, they incorporated a lot more melodies and shit than I usually go for.

Oh I got another one for you, this is a German band called Necrophagist (a person who eats corpses).

Does it bring the slam?[/quote]

The correct term is Wigger Slam Metal. And it’s fucking dire. It’s like Cannibal Corpse and Suffocation with all the songs removed played by 19 year old morons with New Era caps and shit tattoos, and considering Cannibal Corpse is basically the first Deicide album with all the songs removed, that’s pretty fucking bad. Utter soulless and lacking in atmosphere.

All the best stuff was made pre 1993, in either Scandinavia or Florida, with a couple of exceptions.

Awful band. Totally boring. They need to go back to school, because they were obviously masturbating to their own photographs when they should have been in songwriting class.

I’m more into melodic deathmetal, but here are a few of my favorites of the genre.

In flames before they grew a vagina had the mos t creative musicians pumping out beautiful melodies every single song. If without music a lot of their songs would fly with poetry buffs, as far as the quality of their lyrics

In flames - The hive

In flames - December Flower

In flames - Artifacts of the black rain

Dimension zero was founded by I think two members of in flames as a side project. I assume they still wanted to be creative musicians. Their best song is “dead silent shriek” but I couldn’t find a video

Dimension Zero - Hell is within

Dimension Zero - Your darkest hour Dimension zero - Your darkest hour - YouTube

Arsis is a melodic death metal band that gets pretty technical. Great drummer, great guitarists, great music. A bit on the death metal side of melodic death metal, pretty heavy without losing their goodness.

Arsis - Face of My innocence

Arsis - We are the nightmare

I couldn’t find much about Enforsaken, they are a GREAt band, sounding similar to in flames when they didn’t suck. Great melodies, makes for great music. Based out of chicago, they seem to have broken up. I downloaded their discography but the torrent didn’t finish so some of my songs skip :[ I Couldn’t find many of their songs on youtube, this ones good though.

Enforsaken - The acting parts

Necrophagist has some sick-ass fucking guitar players, but you’re right, they’re pretty bad in terms of song writing. They use the same basic formula and template for every song, and could be something special if they didn’t settle with complacency.

I hope no one minds if I post a few black metal bands here?

Illnath - Zetite

Graveworm - Legions unleashed (makes for a good lifting song, at least the beginning.

I don’t even have their CD to be honest they just opened for Gigantor and I thought they fit the mold of this thread so I brought them up.

I would tend to agree about the genres. Great music is great music. I generally like all heavy music.

Not death metal, but really, REALLY fucking good. I’m not usually a fan of folk metal but these guys are the exception

Does anybody here appreciate the musings of Nile? Ithyphallic owns my ears at this moment

To me, there’s a large difference between the All Shall Perish and say a band like Entombed.

I never said King Diamond was death metal, someone just wanted an opinion on King Diamond haha.
