What do you think? Looks pretty good to me.

Fucking kick ass. I stated it before, but 2009 is going down as a KICK ASS year for metal.

Need more new thrash bands though, it has been very calm since the 90s for thrash.

I like Blackout. I think these guys are hit or miss with some people’s taste. I for one love 'em. That video of them breaking their van on the highway is fucking hilarious too.

Municipal Waste
Evile
Toxic Holocaust

Thrash metal never died.

Great list, but you have to admit that the thrash scene in the US went downhill during the 90s, and many 80s classic band lost a lot in quality during those years.
Lamb Of God kicks ass!!

In the U.S. yes…
Metal in general has been SO ALIVE all over the world. I was surprised at how many REAL thrash metal bands are alive and kicking in Japan…
U.S. has been a shitty place for metal for the past 10 years now, and I think that speaks volumes for U.S. metal bands that starting out.
Now you have to be a lame ass ‘death core’ band like Job for a Fag-boy or Slip-sucks-on-nuts-Knot in order to be recognized as a legit “metal act”.
It’s fucking bullshit. All the good metal is coming out of Northern and Eastern Europe. America needs to man the fuck up and start producing good metal acts, and not that gay Hot Topic ‘mall metal’ bullshit. I fucking HATE THAT SHIT!

here’s another one from Drudkh
nice, good stuff.
nothingness - terror and confusion
the last breathing
i like these guys a lot, something about the drumming. brutal death metal from mexico.

.
internal revulsion - end is nigh. it gets even better in the second half of the song.
contemptuous corruption
diSEMBOWELMENT - Exocriate.
One of the best songs for death/doom. The song shifts between fast and slow beats.
These guys only did one album and they are considered one of the cult bands out there.
Esoteric. This band is for the open minded as not all poeple could stand listening to them. They combine ultra hateful screams with grunting and thier music can only be described as one word “MISANTHROPIC”.
Anyone has any recommendations for any songs to learn on guitar in terms of tasty riffage?

something like the section from 2:41 - 3:19? Arch Enemy - Shadows And Dust - YouTube
don’t flame me for rec’ing arch enemy. i know the rest of the song sucks. or maybe that’s not what you meant by tasty riffage.
