I may be wrong but did anyone mention Opeth?

They just put a new album out, has anyone heard it yet?

Black Dahlia Murder, August Burns Red, and Between the Buried and Me are a few favorites of mine.

I saw Children of Bodom, Mastodon and Unearth live and they were all amazing.

- YouTube Blast Beats with clean vocals = WIN

Watershed is very good, much better than Ghost Reveries.

I’ll only accept your BDM and Children of Bodom, the rest must be banned. Sorry man.
btbam FUCKING ROCKS

I’m a fan of:
Job For A Cowboy Job for a Cowboy - Knee Deep ft. SpongeBob squarepants - YouTube

s Blood Runs Black

The Devil Wears Prada- MY FAVORITE

In Fear And Faith (some screamo mixed in)

I Killed The Prom Queen

Ankla- (spanish death metal, neat shit)

Suicide Silence

Through the eyes of the dead ( starts slow)

that’s enough for now. enjoy!

Florida Death Metal = the tits
I mean Morbid Angel and Death came from that scene, how wouldn’t that be awesome?[/quot]

Yeah, good call. Two awesome bands!

How about Deicide? Classic.

I just can’t consider anything ‘death metal’ that has singing through any more than 4% of the song, emu-chord progression, or 80’s style bullshit riffage (a la King Diamond, sorry…)

Real death metal? As it’s been said, bands like: Behemoth, Cryptopsy, Suffocation, Decapitated, Cannibal Corpse, Cattle Decapitation (vegan pussies…) the Aborted, all that good stuff.

Slayer is a ‘classic’ metal band, much like Metallica and Megadeth. If anyone ever tries to pass any of these bands as death metal, though, they ought to be slain.
To me King Diamond is more Black Metal, Behemoth also, (Behemoth is freaking excellent!)

Agathodaimon is a cool band.

Slayer and Death are the grand-daddies of them all.

What about Possessed? Anyone into them?

This is some really sweet shit here.
I like Porcelain Heart.

These guys are choice.

Spawn of Possession
Odious Mortem
Ion dissonance
Suffocation

hell yeah

Anyone ever check out Krisiun? Probably one of the more brutal bands ever created, and it’s a three-piece from Brazil. One of their better songs is Hateful Nature or Ageless Venemous. Check 'em out.

No one’s mentioned Pig Destroyer yet…

Love the riffing.

Not death, but one of my favorite bands of all time;

Although they’re intensely disliked in some quarters (dunno why) Nile has also always been one of my faves.

Where can I see this interview of Decap?
It was on Astro-Zombie a web magazine that my mate Andy Oliver created, we linked in with some of the major labels - mainly Nuclear Blast and free-gig’d it around the country (UK) doing interviews with all their bands, Anthrax was our second interview, needless to say we were stunned as we got Rob Caggioano(never interviewed before). Sadly the mag seems to be ofline now (it was back in 2003) but I did find this one interview still hanging out there in the ether from UNMOORED: http://www.unmoored.com/interastrozombie.htm

Enjoy

King Diamond is neither, just great metal.

Behemoth use to be a decent BM band, but they’re death metal now.

Agathodaimon is a cool Symphonic BM band, I like their album Chapter III the most.

Here’s some Possessed.

Well I’m dissappointed with Krisun, their last album, Assingheysuck, well blew.

I’m not into Pig Destroyer, or that vein of Grind, but I like this song.

I love Nile…to a point, it’s sometimes really hard for me to listen to them for more than 5 min. It starts to get all mushy of blast beats, and I just begin to sleep.

Yeah it’s true, their (Krisiun) newest album wasn’t incredibly, but it’s hard to top Ageless Venemous.

It’s a little lighter and less brutal than some afforementioned DM bands, but anyone listen to All Shall Perish? They can fucking rip, and their vocalist is really, really, really talented.

I’m starting to think there should be a Deathcore thread.

Anyone heard the faceless, they’re pretty brutal

Haha it’s fine I knew they weren’t considered “death”. On another Opeth note I heard they did a cover of Would? by Alice in Chains which they haven’t released yet. Know anything about that?
