Death Metal

Gojira - all these are off of “from mars to sirius”
from the sky

flying whales - really starts around 2:30. might want to listen to the whole thing, it’s pretty nuts. it’s like a roller coaster of emotion.

ocean planet

anyone else check out the berzerker links? i want some opinions because i’m curious. i fucking love their music.

a berzerker track came on a few reps into a one arm row set, my heart skipped a beat, some adrenaline dumped and i became extremely motivated

I use to have some Berzerker stuff, but it was honestly more as a novelty item than anything. I thought it was interesting because of the blast beat mania and excessively heavy music… But it’s just too close to noise for me to listen to for an prolonged period of time… or even more than a song or two. I just never found them to have much of a rhythm, haha.

But hey, what do I know, I know people who love their shit.

Berzerker… I haven’t listened to their newest yet, I think…
Their first album was kinda crappy, but you know, fun.

Their second was so-so, still a bit too random for me.

Their third had some pretty good songs imo, ( y, etc).

Still… Often the melodies are simply not great at all etc, oh well…
I wonder what the new one is like… Definitely going to get that one day.

i love the drummer they have now, todd hansen i think. as a layperson, i’d say he gives a drum machine a run for its money. i think he drums on animosity, and they have a brand new album out now, too. hmmm i think the drums make the music for me.

Admittedly I hadn’t heard anything of theirs since “Berzerker” or “Dissimulate.” I just listened to some of the tracks off their new album, sounds pretty good. I guess I didn’t like the mixing and overall cluttered-ness (ha) of their old stuff.

Okay, here’s my obligatory link, sorry Det. I still feel these guys are underrated as hell.

gojira, the art of dying - oh motherfucker these guys are speaking to me today. like most of their stuff, try to listen to the whole thing. around 4:10 and 6:00 are some amazing things, but even more amazing if you’ve let the rest of the song build up to it.

Any news on a new album?

Their old albums are kind of amusing, sometimes the lyrics are just a tad… Oh well… You probably know what I mean.

I really don’t care for Nevermore’s first album since yeah the lyrics are a bit goofy, but anything after that, I whore them lol.

I’m not going to lie, I was pretty surprised when I heard you liked those guys. That, and I always wondered what the hell your avatar was, haha.

Brain Drill - Revelation

This song slays so hard. I think at the point at about 3:15 is where the get up to playing like 300 BPM or something absurd like that.

Great thread. Thought I’d contribute. Not sure if this has been posted before, probably not, but holy cocks these guys are amazing. How the hell had I never heard of them before??

Has anyone heard Hatebreed’s cover of Ghosts of War?

It’s pretty good. This is one song off their cover album, they also cover songs by Suicidal Tendencies, Metallica, Black Flag, and Crowbar.

Hatebreed should stick to doing cover songs.
