Veerrrrrry satisfying. Definitely worth the wait. I can’t really compare the sound to anything else except for Hour of Penance with classical music influences. Two horns up.

Hmm. You really think that cannibal corpse are worth messing up an exam?
Shit, for those two bands (even though faceless are definitely not bad at all!) I wouldn’t even bother going unless I really had NOTHING else to do.
Then again, shouldn’t you have done all the necessary studying already?

Whoo! Just got back from the show… It was:
Obscura - Opening (Got their CD, hadn’t heard, pretty good.)
Neuraxis - I like them, good set, but no bassist due to passport problems or some shit. Still good, though.
The Faceless - Almost a little disappointing. The guys seemed like douchebags, but hey, they’re from southern LA… Fucked some people up in the mosh pit for them, though. I think they played Ghost of a Stranger from their first album… the place went fucking nuts and everything that WASN’T a mosh became a mosh.
And then…
Cannibal Corpse.
I don’t even know what to say. I’ve always been a fan, but GODDAMN. They need to be seen live to be appreciated. I can not even begin to describe how fucking much their bassist was killing it. They had about a maximum of 15 seconds of down time between their songs, too. Insane.
Awesome show - well worth the potentially failed exam tomorrow (today) lol.
I see you guys posted something about the show, but I REALLY need to go to sleep and study my ass off before 10 am tomorrow…
EDIT: Damn Skaz, that sucks man. If I felt that a day-before-exam-cram-session would have benefitted me, I definitely would have hung back. I actually called my buddies and told them I couldn’t go. Ten minutes later I wanted to punch myself in the dick… so I had to go. No regrets.
CC - Yeah, I definitely should have been more prepared anyway. Oh well… It was totally worth it. I didn’t even get too crazy in the mosh, so I’m even alright to work out today. Although my neeck is tender as hell from like four hours of headbanging… haha.

I love this thread. It makes me feel like a metal lightweight sometimes, as I am always discovering new bands when I check this thread.
I’m still way digging this Fleshgod Apocalypse, it’s all I have been listening to since I got it. There isn’t a single boring track on this album, except maybe for the last one. If any fan of death metal is reading this, and hasn’t picked it up yet, go buy it, totally worth the $.
SSC, I’m way jealous. I’m thinking I should have gone to see CC anyway, it probably wouldn’t have affected my final exam scores at all…

Man, you should have! It was extremely kickass… I got lucky and apparently was already in the clear with my anatomy grade, so I almost skipped the concert for nothing!
Guess who’s coming to Detroit on June 13? Cephalic Carnage, Mayhem, Marduk, and Cattle Decapitation. I’m thinking I’m going to have to go to that… two quality death metal bands and two quality black metal bands.
I really need to pick up that Fleshgod, but I need to wait til I get paid. Everything that I’ve heard on Myspace is solid as hell.
