i dont know if this is death metal or whatnot but i started listening to Mastodon, those dudes are pretty good, the vocals dont overdo it and their drummer is sick.

They’re not death metal, but they’re definitely a solid band. I’m looking forward to Crack the Skye.
Do people still like Gothenburg Melo-Death?

It was a lot better when it started out… Funny how a whole genre pretty much went to shit almost completely.
Oh well…

Only know 1 or 2 tracks from their painter’s palette album…
If only the vocals weren’t so annoying on those… I liked the music as such.
Their new album has Marco Minnemann on it, huh? Isn’t that guy also playing for necrophagist now?
Gotta check that stuff out…
Gojira.Awesome band.Just ordered my tickets for Slipnot,Three inches of blood and trivium.

Yeah, the vocals are annoying, and I still can’t get use to them so I just tune them out when they come in, although the clean vocals are a nice touch to the music. Marco Minnemann will be on the next album, but he left Necrophagist.

Come to think of it, the dillinger escape plan would basically be a “tech”/math-death band if it weren’t for their stupid vocals (the clean ones are so-so, but the goddamn screaming… Man…).
And some of DEP’s stuff is really good…
What’s it with potentially good bands who fuck up in the vocal department that badly?
Do the Ephel Duath guys have any interesting side-projects going on? Maybe some instrumental-only stuff? ![]()

Gojira is one of the grooviest death metal bands ever.(Especially their older stuff) Those other ones you mentioned though…
Ugh.
I hear ya.Life would be good if you could chose the opening acts yourself.Although when I went to see White zombie and Pantera years ago the opening act was the Deftones.Had no idea who they where at the time but was really impressed with their show.Fucking loudest back-up band I ever heard. Not DM thought obviously.
What about the old between the buried and me? And…what do you guys like to lift to? Love lifting to decapitated and Pantera
Emeth - Telesis
Saprogenic - Prolapsed Trachea Fuck Toy
Mortal Decay- Re-Animate
Infernal Torment - The Razor Twist
Visceral Bleeding - Fury Unleashed
Atheretic - Nature laughs last
^the bass tapping rules in that song
Disciples of Mockery - An Endless Pursuit For A Satisfying Pain
Kataplexia - Life Under Earth

The only song worth mentioning by them…
I forgot Gojira! The absolute best lifting music ever, ever! Although, IMO their new record the way of all flesh is garbage
