i dont know if this is death metal or whatnot but i started listening to Mastodon, those dudes are pretty good, the vocals dont overdo it and their drummer is sick.

Yeah, the vocals are annoying, and I still can’t get use to them so I just tune them out when they come in, although the clean vocals are a nice touch to the music. Marco Minnemann will be on the next album, but he left Necrophagist.

Come to think of it, the dillinger escape plan would basically be a “tech”/math-death band if it weren’t for their stupid vocals (the clean ones are so-so, but the goddamn screaming… Man…).
And some of DEP’s stuff is really good…
What’s it with potentially good bands who fuck up in the vocal department that badly?
Do the Ephel Duath guys have any interesting side-projects going on? Maybe some instrumental-only stuff?

I hear ya.Life would be good if you could chose the opening acts yourself.Although when I went to see White zombie and Pantera years ago the opening act was the Deftones.Had no idea who they where at the time but was really impressed with their show.Fucking loudest back-up band I ever heard.Not DM thought obviously.
