Atheretic - Nature laughs last
^the bass tapping rules in that song
Hah, I liked that one too. Odd guitar tone/production though. (at least on the mp3 I’ve got of the song)
Disciples of Mockery - An Endless Pursuit For A Satisfying Pain
Kataplexia - Life Under Earth

Gotta check some of the others out… Still no bloody sound on this pc.
Longstreth on drums huh… That means more blasts… And blasts… And some fast double-kick stuff… And more blasts… And even more blasts…
I just wish he’d actually do something besides that… Just occasionally?
(not that I’m denying his skill here, but come on…)
Edit:
Getting a little tired of “tech” death where the drummer only does generic(though very fast) blasting and double-bass stuff…

I think it will be interesting. I’m not the biggest Gorguts fan out there, especially since the last album, but I’m defintely interested in hearing where this will go.
These guys sound like some old school shit, digging it!

FUCK YEAH! Thanks for sharing this.

Visceral Bleeding are one funny band… On rip the flesh I couldn’t stop laughing at the lyrics, but they have a lot of energy in their music… Might just have to get an album or two of theirs.

Well, there are really only 2 possibilities:
A) The other band members let longstreth do his thing and play along = Gorguts becomes an Origin cover band with a little more variety in the guitar parts.
B) The other band members tell longstreth to do something besides fast standard blasting and double-bass stuff, for chrissake.
= Gorguts makes a fairly interesting album.
Okay, there’s a third:
C) Longstreth does more than just blasting and double-bass parts, but the album still kinda sucks because the creativity just ain’t there.

this song is just too badass not to post idc what subgenre it is
Most metal snobs would call them “sludge” metal, or “groove” metal.
I don’t know. I don’t own any Mastodon, just not my thing.
I do know that, actually I only think that, one of their guitarists is married to a porn star. I’m not sure, I think I only know that from surfing the net real late at night whilst drunk. But I could be right.

I’ll try to find out later.

theres way too many subgenres out there for me.
i just like their sound. they have good riffs and drums and dont have that generic sound either.
A bunch of hired guns with Longstreth on drums? Bad sign.
I can’t think of any classic bands that have reformed in recent years that have gone on to do something impressive. Luc Lemay is a brilliant musician, but I’m not expecting anything that will match the quality of their other albums.

Dunno if anyone’s mentioned this yet or if there are any Pestilence fans in here, but those guys just recorded a reunion-album (sort of, not the whole original lineup… It’s Choy on bass, that may or may not interest Detty, and Wildoer from darkane on drums, among others): “resurrection macabre”.
Word has it that it’s more like their pre-Spheres stuff…
