…And, you’re done.
C_C - I know what you’re saying about Cannibal Corpse. I only have a few of their albums, and find myself seldom listening to them all the way through. I don’t think it’s bad, per se, but as you said, nothing spectacular or terribly original.
I think sometimes I’m drawn to their ‘organized-chaos’ style, which has a lot of things going on at once that makes it sound like an automobile accident, but am impressed by how fairly tight they actually remain on most of their songs (and from what I’ve heard of them live.)

I only recently started listening to Cannibal Corpse. I would say they are fairly entertaining, however I can’t actually sit down and listen to them. I find them best as background music to while I’m playing video games or something.
Cannibal Corpse is good. Their new album, I think, is better than Kill. Like most everyone else has already stated, I don’t actually sit down and “listen” to them. I do have a lot of Cannibal Corpse songs on my workout MP3 though.

Wow, someone who actually likes this band. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bigger hate campaign than when they got the support slot for the Australian Suffocation tour.
Here’s a pretty funny review:

Really… I’ve actually heard nothing but praise for them. In fact, some (professional) reviewers have called it one of the best metal demos of all time.

Cannibal Corpse is killer to workout too. For the last week I’ve been blasting Zero The Hero over and over again. Awesome cover, the original was terrible.

Damn, you showed me… “And you’re done.”…Fuckin A bro, maybe I should of put COF up there just to show how cool I am seeing as how they’re a staple in the death metal scene. Or Slayer, fuck yeah man, pretty underground, only people that know true death metal have heard of Slayer. Oh and sorry I didnt read through 12 pages of death metal literature to figure out maybe my bands were covered and/or ball-busted. Slipknot and 10 years? Yeah they’re obviously not in this little realm, so why would people assume they would be discussed? I’m a big Godsmack fan myself…they’re insanely brutal and the definition death metal rock on.
Get owned by a 2-poster and put your manliness at stake. Oh and Im definitely not in a 3rd world country…obviously, I mean, how would I be online??? RIGHT?! LOL!11

For sure. Even better if you have their entire anthology… Hell, you could probably draw out an album for every workout over a 2+ week period.

Organized chaos? I dunno dude, their song-structures and stuff resemble those of Mariah Carey from what I can tell
I think I’m being overly negative here, but yeah… Just not my kind of death metal.
Shit, I remember listening to their “bloody chunks” song.
Duh.

x2 why would people ragg on them?[/quote]
I love the comment about the bass-guitar sound though
As for “overdone prog-drumming” or whatever… I haven’t heard the album of course, but this guy keeps complaining about how they use odd time sigs and stuff…
What does prefer then, Six Feet Under all day long and 4/4 for president ?

You might just be able to sell that post off to Anal Cunt for use as song-lyrics.
Amazing band. (Although I haven’t heard that much from them.)
What are they like? I’ve seen them mentioned a few times but that’s about it.

Remember the review I sent you? The opening track paragraph is kind of what a lot of their songs are like. What they seem to like to do is bring a lot of atmosphere into their songs. They’ll drop everything for over a minute and out of nowhere slam into that ‘organized chaos’ thing all over again. Shrieks, blast beats, pounding guitars. The guitars aren’t very melodic, at least in the songs I’ve heard. Like I said, organized chaos. The riffs are just… there. I dunno how to explain it…
