Haha, right. If you liked their old stuff, you’ll enjoy it. I don’t think it can hold its own compared side-by-side to Gore Obsessed or Butchered at Birth, but it’s solid. If you liked Kill, you’ll enjoy it.
Just playin’ guys. I’m not quite there with the death metal yet…but I have a feeling I’m progressing into that.
Over the years I’ve gone from Korn, to Slipknot (mainstream stuff, egh) to bands like destroy the runner, disarmoia mundi and killswitch. as opposed to my other friends who went from slipknot and mudvayne to weak ass bands like some emo shit; ugh.

If you’re interested in death metal but still need something relatively musical(from a mainstream perspective), Dark Tranquility might be a good bridging band for you. They’re one of the few melodic lol bands I’ll readily endorse.

Wow, someone who actually likes this band. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bigger hate campaign than when they got the support slot for the Australian Suffocation tour.

Haha, sorry man. I hated the old 'corpse stuff and still find them flat out
boring… The only redeeming qualities are their bassist and their song-titles
Occasionally they have an ok riff, but yeah… Just not my thing.
(no offense to 'corpse fans)
Got to listen to the new bloodbath finally… Hmm. Solid, the usual tremolo-picked stuff with fairly simple drumming… Is that still Akerfeld growling ? If so, then he’s changed his vocal approach some…
They had some so-so albums, but the one before the most recent album is really good (as far as melo-death bands go). Always had a bit of a soft spot for DT.
The new one still tries to elude me to the best of it’s possibilities, though. Only have one promo song, which seemed quite simple in structure and overall just not as good (not bad either, though).
Seems like B rock is more into the metal-core stuff though, so I’d say try heaven shall burn (Antigone was a pretty good album, haven’t heard any of the newer ones yet).
That Teufel guy uses more commas in a “sentence” than I did years back at school in a whole German Essay.
That’s quite the feat, I assure you…

I’m not sure what albums you’re talking about. For someone new to them, I’d recommend Character, Damage Done or Projector.
Yeah, it looks like he’s into metalcore; that’s the problem, haha!

I agree. They made a living ripping off better bands and made up for their lack of creativity by using shock value to appeal to morons. I’m not saying all CC fans are stupid, but all the ones I’ve met sure were.

Yeah, Character was the one.
What’s the new one called?

I agree. They made a living ripping off better bands and made up for their lack of creativity by using shock value
← Thing is, there’s no shock value to them anymore (if there ever was).
They’re not even remotely as grotesque as many goregrind etc bands, they’re just not extreme enough in any way.
Little technicality (Though the bass dude can outplay quite a few of the better bassists around… The band just never lets him do that outside of some side projects), lame-ass vocals mostly (especially now that I’ve heard the beginning of Malignancy’s “motivated by hunger” and other such bands/songs), riffs that are fairly generic yet manage to go absolutely nowhere a lot of the time… No good motifs… At least in my opinion.
I still dig their song-titles. Submerged in boiling flesh… Mhhh… Blowtorch Slaughter, etc… They just never had the creativity/skill/balls to actually make suitably shocking/grotesque songs out of their cool titles.

Fiction. Haven’t heard it yet.

Their most recent album (xenosapien) is quite listenable compared to their older stuff and the tracks are much more varied instead of appearing so similar as was the case on anomalies (where only dying will be the death of me sort of stood out).
Better production overall, too, if we ignore halls of amenti for a moment.
