Well, I’m down for an metal review thread. I got a shit ton of albums I can write up about.

Somebody start er’!

Write some reviews, pm me a few… Let’s get a decent amount together first ,or else everyone will be afraid of posting :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Will do!
I already got one that I wrote for Metal Archives a while ago. It’s only for a single as the band never released a full album with that band name, but after I have that and 2-3 more I’ll pm them.

Hmmm. Do we have a a metal album review thread somewhere on here yet?

Guess we could make one, just out of pure boredom ya know

I don’t believe we do. Start it up CC.

I’ll wait until a few others chime in, cuz I don’t want to be the only idiot reviewing martyr and co on there

2 votes so far, let’s see if this idea can get some momentum going…

There are tons of review sites, of course, but some short reviews of our favs among meatheads…

Wonder if SSC, Detty and co will chime in.

I’m interested in doing reviews.

I think this thread should be about extreme music in general, since I listen to bands that blur the lines between Death/Black/Grind/Jazz/Classical and more other combinations than the Pre-93’ era of Death Metal.

Deathspell Omega - The Shrine of Mad Laughter

Pestilence - Mind Reflections

Bathory - A Fine Day to Die

Exodus - The Toxic Waltz

Obituary: Find The Arise

Opeth - Coil

Opeth - Burden

Windir - Arntor, Ein Windir

A healthy mix of genres and styles

Ulver - Ulvsblakk

Arcturus - Fall of Man

Iron Maiden - Hallowed Be Thy Name

Porcupine Tree - Lazarus

King Crimson - Epitaph

Carcass - Corporeal Jigsore Quandary

Tourniquet - Psycho Surgery

Atheist - Air

Death - Flattening of Emotions

Autopsy - Severed Survival

Disembowelment - Nightside of Eden

Fuckin’ A, this one takes me back to the good old days… sigh…

Ok, thing is, what if someone wants to review a Satriani CD ? ;D
(why is everyone looking at me now?)

Anyway, A little update:

Got several reviews pmed to me, but I actually need some time to read through those!

I had no idea you guys loved to write essays on those CD’s lol, I totally expected much shorter reviews.

But it’s all good, just don’t worry if I don’t answer right away, I definitely got the messages.

The essay comment was so directed at me wasn’t it? I always liked to write, but I never have anything to write about. So I just did it, and I enjoyed it damnit!

No, the comment was not just directed at you. I have not gotten one review under what seem to be 3 pages lol
I just totally didn’t expect that much enthusiasm, but keep it up, guys!

I just heard this danish metal band Scamp, they’re good stuff: Scamp meets the Spartans - YouTube

I just wish I could purchase their stuff in the US

Wow three pages? Unless it’s a band I’m seriously into, I don’t think I’d ever read that. Ahaha
I thought mine was long, but 3 pages? Impressive.

Edited b/c I love you:

White Chapel: Vicer Exciser

Oops… it may have been me. Maybe not… one of them was only two pages. If it was someone else - props!

BTW, the post above me in Rick Astley.

Pyrexia - Resurrection (totally forgot about this band)

I’m actually psyched to see the metal review thread. I already know what I plan on doing next too. All I gotta do is be less lazy and actually review it now.

I saw Whitechapel live a while ago, they weren’t bad.

The Faceless, a neat tech-death band:

The Faceless is awesome. I like the robot voice in their music although I think they overdid it a little on Planetary Duality.

Anyone heard Born of Osiris? Heres a little “Abstract Art”
