I’m close to DLing 300@150…but can easily chin (strict, dead hang) 45 lbs 6 times, and I hope to chin ~66 lbs for 5 in 3-4 months. OTOH, I think a 500 DL will take more than 3 years…

Do DL first one day of the week and pull ups first the other days of the week (2-3 sets as a warm up) and you will see your pull ups go thru the roof…and your bench will probably take a nice jump too![/quote]
I think this is a really good idea. I do this with squats/hip thrusts and chest/shoulders (start with a shoulder movement for workout 1, then a chest movement first workout 2), and I find it really effective. I usually deadlift every other week for recovery reasons, but i would imagine this would work very well. try it out.
As for the 600 lb deadlift vs. the 10 chins, I would say the deadlift is much more impressive for lighter guys. I can DL 450, but can probably get about 8 chins with a 45. (I have gotten 3 with 90 lbs).
How is this a question? If you want solid back development, hit every part. Can you really compare the two?
