Deadlifts instead of squats?

Do you mean do all those lifts in place of squats? or just some?

Al: “I’ve read the replies, I just didn’t have much time to reply” - so I guess you had enough time to ask people to do all your work for you but not thank them. How much time does it take to write “thanks everyone?” BOY that took a LOOONG TIME. And of course you don’t have time to sprint, or figure out your own program. Hmm should we lift the weights for you too? And then you actually try to say that sprinters have too much lower bodyfat?!?!?! What the HELL? Now its changed to I don’t NEED to sprint, when before you didn’t have the time. Come on man, your grade A lazy!

I read Pavel’s PTP book, and it’s one of the greatest books on training I’ve ever read. Especially if your pressed for time, and don’t want to spend more than 15 minutes working out. One thing you can do with the bar is the one handed deadlift. Chris S. wrote a great description how to do this in his ab training article. You can also read this in Pavel’s Bullet Proof Abs book. The one handed deadlift is good for overall strength, but is great for working the midsection. Give it a try.

cool man, hope they work out for you. It takes a lil’ while to get used to them tho, so if they don’t feel “normal” the first workout then don’t give up on 'em…i promise you that after doing them a few times, you’ll be integrating them into your workout for years to come.

IF u sprint u can do all of the above things that youve said Al you will get bigger and more lean.

YES, but work up to it. Master the dead-lifts first
(see Ian king for example)! They will provide a
foundation for everything else, especially the
barbell-hacks. Then add a “little” each month…
( i.e. stiff-leggeds + back lunges) That workout
was actually designed for me; have been training
for over 20 years… so, again, work up to it!

First off, You’re (Not your) a dumbass. Secondly, I’m at school most of day, and I work my ass off at work when I get out of school. I NEED the money, it’s not like ‘oh, i want new clothes’. I DONT have time to SPRINT and dont call me lazy, you dont know me. I asked for people to help me come up with a routine, because I like this site, i’ve read over the articles before but I don’t know much about BB’n. Since i’m strapped for time, asking a question seems like the smart thing to do.

Well, i’ve been told (By people that aren’t retarded) that you can get the look (Again, i’m not going for strength and speed) just by having a great diet, and by lifting weights. This is why I asked…

I did say thanks, more than once…

JZ-aight, thanks. I think i'm gonna do Zerchers or Hack squats in place + some other lifts, like you suggested in place of squats for now, and then add deadlifts on back days.

Why did I say sprinters have too much lower body fat? I said, legs aren’t my main focus…

AS for not saying thanks, again, i’ve said it many times and I said it in my first post (Thanks, …Thank you for taking the time to reply).

Hey, thats cool if you don’t like sprinting but I’m still missing the logic on how you have time to deadlift and front squat but not sprint, like I said its faster than lifting… You don’t have to go to a track to sprint, you just go outside and run period! If you don’t like it then say so, but don’t try to say you don’t have time because that means then you don’t have time to lift. About the lower bodyfat thing “Eddie, most sprints are massive with low body fat.” thats what you wrote… I don’t know what else that was suposed to mean but what ever. Good luck with your workout.

I said Sprints are massive, with low body fat. They are huge, and they have low bodyfat…

I don’t know what you thought I meant, cuz that’s not a bad thing.

I can’t believe no one has said anything about SLDL’s!!! They’re awesome! NOTE: When performing them, don’t round the back & keep the bar close to the body at all times. Now go train! Oh, and eat like hell!
