As stated in a previous post I’ve recently returned to 531 after a year on so on a purely powerlifting protocol. Whilst my maximal numbers increased I felt sloppy doing reps so decided to jump back on 531 for the long term. I’ve programmed 531 for almost two years prior to the powerlifting training with success but since starting up again I’m having serious issues with deadlift.
I’ve dropped my 1rms on all lifts by up to 20% but find hitting higher reps on deadlift a real challenge. This week I managed a real shit 200kgx7 on deadlift, to put this into context I oly squatted 225kgx5 only a couple of weeks ago.
Has anybody else experienced a real drop in deadlift?
