Deadlift is a Press?

They push it. [/quote]

Expand. Id be interested to know where you heard that and in what terms they pull rather than push. I mean, I get the general idea that they are pushing into their harness rather than tugging it along (pulling) but dogs are a major interest, so if you read something expanding on this id like to read it.

Had nothing more. It was just talking about pulling v pushing. That’s all. It actually mentioned huskies and horse and carriage.

It’s basically a squat. Using your legs (mainly) to move in the direction of your spine. So they push against the rope.

Did someone say that the Hips were the primary movers for the deadlift??? Standard postition for the Dead puts you with your legs in a bent position, having to fully straighten their position at the very top (apex)of the movement. IF you cut off your leg below the the knees and were able to dead weight that was much below your body, then your hips would be considered primary movers…but I digress…Knee flexion makes the legs the primary mover in the Deadlift…otherwise I suppose it would just be a stiff legged deadlift…oh Semantics…

True. You can see the “push” when they take up the slack. Same as a horse and cart. A “pull” would imply there is no slack to take up…

On to more “pressing” questions, is a tug-of-war a pull or a push?

It’s true guys…

Deadlift is a press

Squat is a curl

Bench press is a kick back

Pulldowns are actually pullups

Now that you guys know the truth about training your gains will quadruple!!!
