Hey guys. Here is a video of one of my recent dead lift sessions with 365 which I can usually get for around 5 or so. 405 is my max btw. However I’m having a problem getting by butt under as you can see in the video. Any tips, exercises ect would be greatly appreciated
Stop deadlifting in trainers for starters. Get either a pair of deadlift slippers or I really like wrestling shoes. If you pause the video when you first get set up you’ll see that you’re trying to get your butt too low and thats pushing the bar out almost past your toes. If you pause again right before the bar breaks the floor you can see your lower back is rounded and your head isn’t even close to neutral. So if you try to start with your hips higher you’ll end up starting lower. And really lock in your lower back
My 2 cents: work on hip mobility prior to pulling by doing something like KStarr’s hip sequence and do some glute activation stuff to help get into a proper starting position.
Try to think of it as a leg press away from the floor rather than bending down and pulling imo
Awesome. Thanks for the tips
Unless the sideways video is playin tricks on me, it looks like you use a very wide stance for your deadlift. That looks much closer to a squat stance and if you want to sit back more and dont have the hip mobility then maybe give a close stance a try. Goodluck dude and nice progress
