Nice guns though.

Ya… 18.25” arms with 30% BF isn’t impressive tho. I was a hell of a lot stronger than I am now tho.

Sunday
1.5 hours of baseball practice

It’s funny you say that. I feel the same way. I was fatter last year (I almost call myself fat instead of just carrying fat). I’m sitting here talking to my wife about how I eat what should be a wholesome meal (steak, veggies, sweet potatoes) and find myself hungry an hour later even though the meal was 800 calories. I’m pretty much hungry most of the day.

She’s asking me why I feel that eating when I’m hungry and possibly carrying more fat is a bad thing. I don’t really have an answer but I like the idea of eating more!

I find myself questioning my diet choices a lot during this cut. Just a few more pounds…

I am the exact same. I’ve never had abs and that’s why I’m trying so hard to be lean. I’m also hoping I can find a maintenace point where I can be lean and eat what I want with a maintainable activity level.

If I ate when I was hungry, I wouldn’t stop eating. It’s scary how much I would eat if i was limited by portions at restaurants. When I was alone, traveling for work last summer, I would eat non-stop and end the day with a large blizzard from DQ. I started feeling really horrible, tired and would get mildly depressed.

If I could find a level of maintenace with activity, this would be the goal! There’s some rewiring in my head to do first tho. Like, stressful day doesn’t equal more food… or, birthdays don’t mean extra cake and ice cream.

My favorite treat is a large chocolate chip cookie dough blizzard made with chocolate ice cream! It’s too bad that I found out that one of those is over 1600 calories. I usually get the peanut buster parfait now. It’s only 700 cals.

I’m hoping to do the same. I think I might be able to eat based on hunger but only if I eat really healthy foods. The moment I deviate and start loosening up is when I’ll start gaining fat.

This is where we might disagree. I rarely eat cake and ice cream so it’s game on when it’s my birthday. Luckily I’m not a part of many birthdays so I’m only exposed to it a handful of times a year.

I did the same, but added mint… that’s scary. Add in the 3 king size candy bars, doughnuts for breakfast, 3 entree Panda Express for lunch and a burrito for dinner. I was probably close 6000 cals.

It’s like 1-2 times a month that someone in my family has a birthday/event. Today, was a baby shower. Last week was a nephews bday.

You guys have broken hunger switches too? They used to mock me around the office because I’d eat a rotisserie chicken for lunch or some other big portion and be hungry an hour later.

I didn’t know there was a switch! Ha.

Meetings all day today. Started at 715, ended at 630. Then played a baseball game. Pitched an inning and struck out 2. Felt pretty good. Also went 2-4 and got plunked twice.

Ready to crash.

Nice! I’m a little jealous but I’m also not in any kind of shape to play baseball. Being away from the game makes 75 mph seem like 95 mph and I doubt I could catch up. Slow pitch softball is enough for me, and I only play that once a year now.

Just popping in as a fellow member of the “I wish I could eat more without getting super fat” camp. It is difficult for me to wrap my head around the “I’m sick of having to eat so much to gain weight” camp.

Helluva game, you plate crowdin’ S.O.B.

Yea, baseball is a hard sport to just pick up. Despite practicing for last 5 weeks, yesterday’s first practice game has caused me to be extremely sore in weirdest place.

You can’t sympathize Mr. Eat Whole Pizza.

Lol!! If only. Dude didn’t warm up, just jumped in and started pitching. I was first batter he face and he plunked me. I chose to keep hitting and take a new count. 2 pitches later and plunk again.

Abel is out for the year, Beavs lost 12-8 to the Ducks.

Got any eligibility left?

2 years left! Sadly, my arm tops out at 82. Come inning 3 of throwing, I drop down to mid 70s.

Sounds like Sam Tweedt and Bailey keeps trotting him out to get shelled by UO and SDSU, why not you?

BTW, know you’re not a Beaver fan, but will be in Portland 4/21-4/26, sort of. Skiing with my kids at Timberline Monday and Tuesday, P-town for rest and recovery on Wednesday, then OSU on Thursday for a tour of the Vet school (my daughter is a sophomore, wants to be a vet), biology, and Mechanical Engineering for my son (he’s 12), then dinner at the Corvallis Country Club. Back to P-town for Friday before flying out Friday night.

If you’re close to Portland on Wednesday or Friday, coffee or a meal would be cool. Always in to meet fellow T-Nation peeps, but I know you are not close to downtown, so all good.

I need Tommy John surgery. If I did that, then I’d be ready. But, I’d be a ready 30 y/o.

I’ll check my calendar in the morning.

Yeah, Tommy John makes us all better. I threw 75, would have been 78 at least with Tommy John.

Heimlich was 40, wasn’t he?

Cool. Loprinzi’s is on the table if you want to do that.

Haha, but I wish I could eat more!

That’s pretty dangerous, lol. I only play beer league once per week now and every week my first few throws feel like I’m throwing with my wrong arm! I need a good warmup before throwing feels natural again.
One game, I showed up late and we were actually short players. As soon as I arrived, I was called out to man second base. First hit comes to me as a grounder towards 2B, pick, touch second (was a guy on 1st), turn and plunked the runner right off the top of the head. I wasn’t even close to where I was wanting the ball to go! Oops. Sorry bud. My bad.

Moral of the story: warmups are more important in baseball than they are for squats.

Last October I played in our annual police softball tourney. I had just injured my shoulder the week prior - subluxed the biceps tendon. I was tired of being banged up with my hip so I played anyway. My tendon popped out of the groove probably 30 times that day. I had no control over my arm slot so every throw was different (and quite an adventure). I ended up playing 3rd base and had at least four throwing errors. They all went wide right. I really need to remember to aim left when I throw.

Friday would be my only chance. I live in another part of the state M-Th. I’ll let you know as I get closer.
