Yea, one of my parents went to OSU. That was the school to go to. My parents told me they wouldn’t help me if I went to UO.

It’s a tax thing.
Depending on their retirement, the (lack of) income tax in WA makes it worth it. Add in ridiculous property taxes and it makes complete sense.

I didn’t have time for much more.
Saturday evening I broke a tooth loose. It’s a tooth that I had a root canal on 15 years ago after being hit in the face with a baseball. I could pull this lil bitch out if I wanted. Fortunately, the tooth is dead so it’s not painful. My dentist of 21 years is in the Caribbean so I have to wait until Tuesday to get this fixed. ![]()
Good news is I don’t have to travel this week! First time since last June.
Decided to get another 25 minutes of cardio in. With the broken tooth, I can’t eat much. So got a smoothie. I’m waaaay under my low calorie day today. Plan has me around 1900 today. I’ve had 750. Dinner will be eggs and rice. It’s soft and will be minimal pain.
I go under thursday to get my tooth taken care of. I’m told no food before and no food for 12 hours after procedure. Essentially, Thursday is a no food day! Woo, forced weight loss! Aside from rice/quinoa and soups, it hurts to/is awkward to eat.
I’ll hit legs tonight, back tomorrow then take Thursday and Friday off.
I didn’t think I’d have to travel this week… but, the client asked for me and my boss said if it’s possible, make it happen.
So… driving 4 hours to a 2 hour meeting, then driving 4 hours back. ![]()

I think your employer needs to pay for you to get your pilot’s license so you can make these trips much shorter.
That’d be a dream! Sadly, it’d be an hour drive to airport, which defeats the purpose.

I finished my 7.5 hours of driving today, for a single 2 hour meeting.
will go to sleep tonight, wake up at 445, pop two pills and wake up Friday afternoon. Everything in between will be zombie mode. Ha! Last time I had the same drugs for a dental procedure, I ended up asking my ex GF out. I’m gonna leave myself notes to fuck with myself. You might see me posing with that Batman guy.

Also… finished Good to Great today. Really good book. Specifically the hedgehog principle he discusses. My company has grown rapidly and we still need to hire two people. I had been struggling with hiring someone who, on paper and in person is great. The book helped me articulate to the boss today, why I didnt recommend hiring him.
Also… the thought on hiring good people, then managing systems not people.
I’m not supposed to train until Sunday… but, I’m incapable of doing nothing. Wife went to store so I jumped on stair-master and did a quick shoulder workout. Will try to do this again tomorrow.

I snuck in 20 minutes of cardio yesterday before my wife got back. Didn’t have time to workout, so did 500 push-ups with a band around back while my wife was working in her home office. Woke up with sore triceps and Lats.
Fortunately, the lifting ban has ‘lifted’. Can finally train again today. I have baseball practice today. Then, tomorrow is back to the typical routine. Work all day, drive all afternoon and night board meetings all week. Then will be back home on Thursday night.
