This post really has nothing to do directly with the immensely gifted and muscular receiver, but since we’re on the topic, I want everyone’s opinion on who you think are the top three wide receivers in the NFL. In fact, feel free to name your top three QB’s and RB’s while you’re at it, along with who will appear in the conference championship games this January. For the record, I’m a Minnesota Vikings fan, and no they won’t be anywhere near the playoffs this year, but rebuild quick will ya please, Coach Tice!
My top three receivers are 1)Randy Moss 2)Terrell Owens 3)Marvin Harrsion
QB’s: 1)Kurt Warner 2)Peyton Manning 3)Jeff Garcia
RB’s 1)Marshall Faulk 2)Edgerrin James 3)Ahman Green
NFC Championship Game: Tampa Bay vs. Green Bay
AFC Championship Game: Miami vs. Pittsburgh
Hell, no, just because he’s built like a linebacker doesn’t mean David Boston’s a top three receiver. He still, in my opinion, has some weaknesses to his game.
Top 3 receivers: 1) Terell Owens 2) Issac Bruce 3) Randy Moss
Top 3 RB’s: 1) Marshall,Marshall,Marshall 2) Edgerrin James 3) Corey Dillon. Look for the Saints’ Deuce Mcallister to break out this year. Yes I’m a saints fan.
top 3 QB’s: 1)Brett Favre 2)Kurt Warner 3) Peyton Manning
NFC championship: 49er’s vs. Green Bay AFC: Miami(even though they are sucking in preseason)vs. Pittsburg
Donovan McNabb is definitely one of the top three quarterbacks. And as far as the NFC championship game, have you ever seen Tampa Bay show up at a big game in the past few years. Gruden or not, with Sapp on your team, you are bound to choke.
I’m sorry, but I’m a Niners fan. But Jeff Garcia continues to improve every season - and therefore, I believe he will be number one this coming season. As for NFC, with Gruden at Tampa Bay, let’s hope their woefully lacking offense will pick up to the level of the defense. Therefore, they’ll have a well rounded team. And may be able to be the “team to beat” this season.
I just remember, while in a American Airlines plane heading towards Chicago in 2000, reading their mag, and the topic was the NFL and they had a several pages of so-called "experts" from FOX, ESPN, etc. choosing the AFC and NFC Champions: and you know what? Practically every one of them were WRONG!
Ricky Williams as one of the top 3 RB’s in the league??? Pardon me while I try to get myself off the ground laughing at that one. Yeah, he’s great if you like weird, antisocial, one-dimensional, weird, slow, weird with no ability to catch as pass not thrown directly at him kind of good. If you get him turn even slightly sideways, he goes down faster than your dream prom date.
Why would being in the same division preclude them from playing in the NFC championship game? One wins the division, and the other makes it as a wild card. I’m sure it’s happened before.
I still think Ricky Williams is one of the top 5 running backs in the league. His stats speak for themselves and he pretty much carried the saints offence with over 50% of their production.
I didn’t want to start a new thread on David Boston, so I posted in this old one. There was an article in 9-5-02 USA Today on him, saying he is 6-2, 248, and runs the 40 in 4.1 seconds. Anyone interested can check out the pretty lengthy article in the Sports section.
