Dan Hardy is Training at DeFranco's Gym

give time some time, fedor is not the biggest, anderson is not the biggest, hell lyoto is not the biggest

I was impressed with Hardy Deadlifting 500lb’s obviously most of his training for mma as far as weightlifting goes is very high reps 25-30 for muscular endurance (or that is what I hear they train like at places like american top team and xtreme coture) so for him to move 500lb’s is pretty solid, I mean obviously he’s not banging out mad reps with that kind of weight but thats pretty respectable if you think about the amount of cardio hes obviously doing and is in the last few weeks of his camp so hes dieting hard as well. Just my thoughts, I mean its doesn’t mean jack when it comes to helping him against GSP he will get messed up and wont be able to hang with GSP, and will just be outclassed.
Look again -he didn’t pull 500 , he pulled “365 off the floor” …and with a trap bar.

You look again there is chain on the bar.

Yep there’s a chain and it’s a trap bar; that’s my point.

What’s yours ?

I’m curious is still 365 or 500?

You see chains add weight to the lockout of the movement while only 365 pounds on the floor when he raises the weight it increases to the 500 pounds Defranco talked about. So when he locked it out it was 500 pounds.

holy crap so that’s how it works, but HOW?

Um… yeah that’s my point- for the third time.

Lift weights much ?

On you period or something, you complain about the weight in the video when it is clearly stated how the chains work and then bitch when I explain it too you. Why even bring it up if you knew asshole?

Gee Sparky sorry for the butthurt but I only" brought it up" in my very first post…(You’re right though I am an asshole).
Anyways, why are you commenting on things you clearly do not understand ?
Why are you telling me shit like “you look again” ?
Have you "looked again " ?
Did you notice that not only is Hardy pulling a hexbar with chains but also that he’s pulling off blocks ?

Dude please think about what you’ve seen, heard and read.
If you still can’t wrap your head around it start deadlifting.
The day you pull 405 on a straight bar off the floor will be the day you can probably pull 365+120chains on a hexbar off blocks; what it won’t be is the day you can go around sayin’ you DL 5 plates and a doughnut.

Whatever bros, stop the hatin’ spread the lovin’ …

and Hardy LOST, no Chains or bands made him stuff any GSP takedowns

Cool but Defranco didn’t say shit about the box, anyways who cares.

Good point, most people probably didn’t even notice that when they did stand and strike GSP landed more punches.
Yep,he dictated the fight in ALL areas. I guarantee his shoulder is fucked up today as well.
How did that look to you Big? To me it looked like GSP was trying not to break his arm. If he had punched that submission instead of easing it I think there would have been immediate stoppage. Not that I wanted to see Hardy get his arm broken, and in fact I’m glad it didn’t turn out that way. But it seems that GSP was really trying to avoid that scenario.
GSP made some small technical mistakes with the armbar and kimura…more so with the armbar. Most people would have tapped from the kimura…Hardy was thinking about it himself.
Ill agree with BB, he didnt have great position during the armbar, and Hardy rolled out the back door pretty quickly, says somthing about
the kimura- looked very painful, GSP had it a a pretty severe angle, and jerked it hard. It did look like hardy tapped him on the ass, and it also looked like GSP didnt want to break his arm.

I got to see GSP while he was here at Renzo’s , he is allot bigger then when I saw him there about 3 years ago.
I was strictly a ‘guest’ he looked tighter in practice- very active.

Why not have Hardy fight Fitch, Alves or Koscheck? I know why. The answer is he would lose and then never get a title shot and there go all the English PPV dollars.

Like I’ve repeatedly said Dana White makes me sick.
Do you wath UFC? Koscheck had untimely loss to Paulo Thiago. Kampmann Swick was supposed to be for number 1 contender. Swick got hurt so Kampmann fought Paul Daley. Daley KO’d Kampmann so they set up Swick Hardy expecting Swick to run through Hardy. Hardy beat down Swick. And all other fighters had already fought and lost to GSP or were coming off of losses, so the only logical choice was Dan Hardy.
Well you are forgetting Jon Fitch, but here’s to hoping he gets the next shot.

N0 he fought GSP and lost although it was much much closer than the Hardy or Alves fight.

Fitch is going to rack up lot of wins and no fun with his style

And now he’s gone on a four fight win streak and is really the only major, and proven, challenger left for GSP in the division. Hence, a contender.

Well,he did decision Paulo Thiago…and Ben Saunders is no slouch…but Gono and Mike Pierce?? Hmmm…I think Fitch really needed that match against Alves to be considered for another title shot.

I say go ahead and match him with Ricardo Almeida…as was planned for UFC 106…IF he doesn’t get rematched(AGAIN…sheesh) for Alves.

Ricardo Almeida is overrated, the first decent guy he gets he is going to get KTFO with his punny cardio and striking
