Cutting Progress?

I’ve been reading on this site for quite a while, and its terrific.

Anyway, I started to cut seriously, for once. I’ve been bulking for a while, and I feel I’ve done enough to start cutting.

My cutting basically consists of:
Day 1: 6:30 AM - 10 KM Bike Ride
6-7 PM: - 20 KM Bike Ride
Day 2: 6:30 AM - 10 KM Bike Ride
Day 3: 6:30 AM - 10 KM Bike Ride
6-7 PM: - 20 KM Bike Ride
Day 4: 6:30 AM - 10 KM Bike Ride
Day 5: 6:30 AM - 10 KM Bike Ride
6-7 PM: - 20 KM Bike Ride
Day 6: 6:30 AM - 10 KM Bike Ride

Im enjoying the rides, but waking 6:30 in the cold Vancouver morning can suck.
I’m not sure if this is too much, but I am one of those sadistic bastards who wake up for it, so it really doesnt bother me.

Anyway, my diet consists of around 2000 calories a day.

Anyway, the problem is, I seem to be losing weight too quickly, and I have a few questions about it. I’ve lost around 3lbs in the past 5 days, which seems a little too good to be true. My questions are:

  1. Is it possible to have ‘noob gains’ regarding cutting? Meaning, do you lose fat faster at first? This much faster?
  2. I know its not possible to cut without losing some muscle, but how can I know how much muscle I burn? I still keep protein in my diet, though not as much, but I stopped taking Creatine Monohydrate.
  3. If the loss of weight is not result of the two questions above, is there a reasonable explanation?

Thanks in advance.

Unless your SMALL 2000 k/cals is VERY VERY low and likely why your losing so fast

You tell us your cardio but for cutting you leave out the important info what your eating also training.

  1. well dropping intaek as lowe as you have and adding in all the riding hell yes youll lose fast

2)best way how are your lifts?? if they start to drop your losing a lot of LBM aim to try best you can to keep your strength up. Why stop the creatine?? It better even while cutting IMO helping to keep ATP high during a hypocaloric diet.

3)water deopendent on howlow your carbs are and well your not eating and added a lot of new activity.

I am not small, 6’1 - 180 lbs.

I dont do the traditional lifts, so I couldnt tell you unless I went and tried. Usual weights dont seem to be any heavier than usual, but then again, I did cut my gym time some, simply because another reason Im cutting is due to a strange middle back injury that’s healing itself.

I have low carb intake, as well as around 8-12 cups of water a day, so my water intake is great right now.

Thank you for answering, it’s starting to make sense that Im losing the fat pretty fast.

Try to lose a pound per week maybe 2 at most. TO much cardio unless you have been cutting for a while ,you’ll definitely stagnate with all that. Add cardio gradually over time when fat loss stalls. Buy calipers(i bought mine for 15$ on line from amazon) to measure your body fat%.

Make sure your lifting heavy at least 3 times a week. Also make sure protein is at 1.5-2g per pound of bodyweight. Also meaure your cardio in time not on distance it makes it easier for others a good start would be cardio on the bike for 30minutes 3 times a week. Then add another 30minutes session after 2 weeks so on.

You are skinny, or at least not carrying much muscle at all on you. Exactly what are you cutting and what is the goal weight? You weigh less than even the sedentary recommendation for someone your height.

Why do people giving advice just casually skip over the stats of some of these people? This isn’t “anorexia.com
