Utlast I’m gona have my second mma fight which is about 2 to 3 months from now, maybe less. I weight about 79klg’s since one year now, same weight.
Body fat is about 16 to 17% not so sure, but that’s as I heard from most of the fighters.
I really need to cut from 79klg’s too utleast 72klg’s before my fight. I’m not well excperienced with diet that much, specially with losing weight the right way. I have read few articles and got the idea of eating 5 meals (high protien, low carbs) but how much carbs should I take? or should I stop eating carbs for good to lose weight faster, same thing with protiens and how much cardio should I do after my weight lifting. I don’t wana count my mma cardio training as part of it now, I just wana do it as if i’m only goin to the gym.
so any one got any recomandations as how to lose weight fast ,the right way withought losing muscle, any one got experience with cutting?
hope to get your reply very soon
sorry for my bad english,
thank you

I found the first problem. What is the date of your next fight? Or do we not know yet? That’s an important thing to know, and will help us decide the rest of the steps.
Why? Will you have a better chance at winning in the 72kg class, compared to the other guys currently fighting at 72? If you stayed at 79kg, and focused and maintaining/gaining strength and technique, would you still have a chance at a win?
Five meals a day is a fine start. Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner. On days you train (with weights or MMA), try to have a protein shake right afterwards too, so it’s 6 “meals” on those days.
NO! Right now, you needs some carbs to function. In a month or so, we can slowly reduce the daily carbs to help with weight loss. But not right from the start. The exact amount will depend on how often you’re training each week.
Shoot for 2 grams protein per kg of bodyweight. So, at least 160 grams per day.
If it burns calories, it counts. And MMA training can definitely burn calories.
How are you training in the gym right now and what other cardio are you doing? Also, what days do you have MMA training?
