I’m in a postin’ mood today! Whoo f’n haw, it’s like an MB overload. Right ‘bout time too…mmmmhmmm. Anyhow, After my GVT phase I’m heading into MELTDOWN territory. MY question here concerns diet. I follow massive eating protocols though I am never big on carbs. The only carbs I really take in are those of oatmeal, fruits and veggies, mostly the latter two. My question is: How do I reduce calories when there is so little to slash from my diet? I don’t really need to lose enough to go on the Fat fast, but I would like to lean out a bit. Lata. I loves you mofos. We gots to get the NYC T-fest goin’ one of these days.
“MB Eric: Notoriously Nostalgic for the last five seconds. Since…six seconds ago.”
MB, why not just go to Don’t Diet, same protocol just lower total cals. How much cardio you doing at moment? Cardio and don’t diet may be right combo for your goal. Interesting post by Jman (I think) who works with Don Alessi said to do jump rope for 1 min flatout as if doing 400m run then rest 3 mins, rather than more moderate 3 mins ropework a la Coach Davies. Aaahh Meltdown the joy of having finished and survived.
Hey bud. Just eat the same things you’re eating (on the massive eating protocols), but reduce the amounts by 10-15%, and see how the results go after a couple of weeks. I don’t think you need to cut anything out completely, just take a little bit of everything out to lower the cals.
Personally given my lovely slow metabolism, I’d prefer a 25% reduction in calories from the original Massive Eating protocols. However, if you can start to lose fat with a 10% reduction, go for it! Meltdown training will serve you will, especially after a GVT phase. In the past you’ve said that you typically maintain low BF%s, so in that case, you could give the FF a go for a week and you’d be where you want to be. Given the luxurious position of not having much to lose, I wouldn’t go that route. Couldn’t live without my oatmeal
