Lets try this question:
If the entire population of the earth was “100% DUDES” and No Women… Would you still have the desire to workout and build a better physique?
This question is not for Gays or Women that don’t exist.

If the entire population of the earth was 100% DUDEs, I would eat a bullet after putting one in my inflatable female doll first… Seriously.
I too must be superficial. I’m happily married, madly in love with my wife, ahve three kids, a great job and career, and I still want to be attractive to women in general.
I have two primary motivations:
Am I interested in an extra-marital affair? Absolutely not. My wife is the best thing ever to happen to me. But do I like looking good in front of her girlfriends? Absolutely.

I am vain and superficial, of course I want every woman on the planet to be attracted to me even when i have zero interest in them and I am in a relationship. Why? Cause I am vain and superficial. That means i bust my ass in the gym to look good, i work my ass off to make money to dress well, drive a nice car, have a nice house, be financially secure etc. I do all of those things, gym included for the opposite sex to be attracted to me and the same sex to be jealous of me. That is my motivation. That means my priorities are messed up? No, not when it drives me results.
Wtf is wrong with some of you. If you are busy judging someone else for their source of motivation or how they use the gym to validate themselves, it is you who have messed up priorities. Worry about yourself.
Funny, people want to knock this ‘working out for the girl’ crap but will say anything postive about IFBB pros who do all kinds of homo erotic crap to pay the bills for a sport where the goal is to have other people think you look better than the person standing next to you.
What is even funnier to me is this ‘I workout to challenge myself’ bullshit. I challenge you not to take your shirt off in public or put up a shirtless avatar picture on the internet if you want a flipping challenge.

btw, this was not directed at anyone in particular, just a summary of stupid shit I have seen on this site for the past 9 years.

Now THAT IS an epic post.

I’d think that probably the majority of us, myself included, started lifting to get female attention, but once you’ve been at it for a few years it becomes about impressing yourself, not others. I do just fine with girls, and I doubt another inch on my arm would really make a difference.
Besides, I’m getting married soon anyway. After that I can let myself go and enjoy being all fat and slovenly.
x2 - I’m pretty sure the OP’s thread is based off of comments I made in another thread.
I started lifting for girls, but if you’re still lifting for girls after 25 or so, I’m willing to bet you’re priorities are all fucked up.
I honestly don’t remember. It was just a general vibe I’ve gotten from the forums. There’s a big difference between it being a motivator and number one priority.
I have to admit, I started lifting out of frustration. Medicine for my temper. The mader I got, the harder I trained and ate. Getting girls was a byproduct of my efforts. Nowadays, Im too big, to muscular be approachable; well, except for gay men unfortunately -_-. Being.g swole or ripped doesn’t mean you’re guaranted action- game means you can pick up women through whatever means. Ive seen fat bastards with better game than me lol.

All above reasons are why I started sports/training in middle school. I was a fat ass.

This is where you really went off course. I think it’s retarded to work out for girls after a certain age, that doesn’t mean I’m “worrying” about anyone else. That’s my opinion that I shared on this forum, of which the entire idea depends on exchanges of ideas and opinions.
Sorry if my opinion makes you butthurt.

please actually read what I wrote. I clearly said judging others. And I stand by that. You are definately allowed to have that opinion, but dont judge others negatively because you have an opinion, they have one too, and it is their motivation at factor not yours.
‘butthurt’? what are you like 9? I really dont get it, my butt hurts because your opinion rectally pentrated me? Can someone explain to me internet speak?

Jskrabac, you like I are in a graduate/professional program that is going to leave you making a six-figure salary in your 20s. Women almost certainly are drawn much more by that than anything you’re doing in the gym. Not because women are all about the money or whatnot; instead, it’s some combination of that and seeing that as you being ‘successful’ and having stature in the world. Having a six-pack is just a secondary benefit.
yeah it means they will be living/leeching off of you while sleeping with the jacked bro from the gym… trust me, this shit happens…
i used to be an avid loveshack reader, women really are this treacherous… and when kids are involved? shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit
Dude, you sound like you are turning into a buff version of Orion.
I’ll let you in on a little secret, there are alot of women out there with money and high pay gigs of their own, who are attractive. This isnt the 40s. Most of them wont even bat an eye at a dude who doenst make money. If you make money and end up with a ‘leech’ that is your poor judgement. Making fun of people for wanting to make lots of money is like making fun of people who wanna get swole. Haters gunna hate.
i wasnt making fun of anyone? lol

You’ve never heard the term butthurt before? Don’t you know how to internet?
I never did it specifically for girls but getting noticed was and is nice. I did it for confidence, I was a pretty insecure kid, lifting weights and trying to get bigger and stronger gave me confidence that seeped into other parts of my life, I can say with no hesitation that lifting weights has made me a better person. Corny but true.

I hear that for sure. I tell people all the time that I learned more about myself in the weight room than I did in 4 years of undergrad.

however now, i couldnt give less of a shit what girls want me to look like. they all think im “too big” and “intimidating” which is the gayest thing ive ever fucking heard…
i want to look like a mentzer/zane/ray hybrid, and fuck all if im gunna give up that vision to be “appealing” to some drunk blown out whore.
besides, girls would rather be with a penniless asshole who uses and abuses them… (just going on observation of the female breed over the years).
females at my age are nothing but a drain on finances/time/effort. and besides… the media tells them what to find attractive lol
Lol.
Started lifting as a fat teen because I had to for sports… But now, I’d definitely say it’s a factor. I’m way more motivated by the gains I see in strength though.
I started at age 25 and 140lbs due to a girl…learned much about myself in the gym. Now at age 30 and 185lbs, it’s all for my mental health and sense of self image.
