CT Fletchers Real Ass PT Certification

I actually find it curious that so many people are fixating on CT’s physique and less so on the fact that he set records in the bench and strict curl.

The guy does have more credentials than just “big strong guy”. The worth of those credentials is definitely still up for debate.
If CT collected his sweat and sold it as test booster, a lot of these guys would buy it no questions asked.

As opposed to the people that are already buying test boosters with real working formulas I suppose.

For 2,500??
If part of his cert is teaching me how to throw cool words like “mother******” in my speech 10 times per minute and not feel like a douche, it’s worth over $5000. Right now I feel bad if I say that more then twice per conversation.
exactly what I thought. Certain people are just very good at swearing. Adam Sandler for instance

Good point. CT’s sweat may actually have more chance of increasing test than most of these supps.

Went to the gym before work today and a kid there brought up Fletcher in casual conversation. Not this specifically, just some of his training ideas. The guy’s obviously fairly well known and is trying to milk his 15 minutes. In a year or two he’ll be a forgotten YouTube hero so he might as well cash in while he can. You also gotta understand his target audience is 15-24 year old morons with more (of daddy’s) dollars than sense.

You would think someone who’s trying to milk his 15 minutes of fame would be a little more subtle. The amount of money he’s asking for is ridiculous. I’d hope that people would realize this is obviously just a way for CT to get some money, but as I stated before, people are sheep.

Right. Isn’t $2500 more expensive than all other certs out there now?

But, I do agree that this is very smart of him to do.
He has skins on the wall in the iron game.
Has established an internet following.
Is getting publicity.
And now gonna charge $2500 to certify you as true CT Fletcher disciple.
It’s a freaking great idea

Join the Corps, they’ll teach you that shit fo free.
That’s what I was thinking. Not to mention the benefits that accompany what you learn.

Dude, it’s 2014. We’re ankle deep in the Idiocracy. Kardashians, YouTube personalities, Li’l Wayne, etc… subtlety is about as useless as talent today. Being loud, obnoxious and talentless is what sales. Fletcher is at least motivating to some, so he’s gotta strike while the iron is hot.

I don’t understand how people are impressed by this bullshit. Lifting weights and cursing doesn’t make you hardcore and certainly isn’t motivating.

+1

It’s hard for me to look up to someone who does quarter squats… I cringe everytime I see someone doing them.

Problem is, CT doesn’t recognize me as a bona-fide dude who knows his stuff if I go through the corps.

Nope, CT’s approval is worth more then any skill the corps could possibly teach me.

Plus, I want to say bon-bon in a sentence. I don’t think the corps would teach me how to do that.

/sarcasm

I haven’t done a full ROM squat in over a year. Should I start doing them again? What am I missing out on?

Same thing with deadlift?

Sex appeal.

To be fair I feel like what he means when he says ‘quarter squat’ and what you mean when you say ‘not full ROM squat’ are still far apart in actuality.

I doubt it honestly. This is an old video, but it’s where I tend to start my training at

(about 50 seconds in)

And there is where most of my rep work tends to fall, if not shorter (I tend to cut out the lockout and just drill the few inches after the hole and before lockout)

When I say quarter squat , I mean loading the bar with weight that the person can’t even get anywhere close to where you’re going in your reps. CT literally just bends his knees slightly. Which is fine, but he calls that a squat and all his clients and people in his videos do the same. So I assume they must watch him and do that. In my experience, I’ve gotten much stronger and mobile from learning to do squats with more ROM. But, everything is goal specific, I compete in powerlifting, so I always try to get full ROM. Wasn’t trying to offend anyone.
