Ok, so I posted this in another thread about 3 way splits, and it got me thinking. I’d love to get some feedback. My limitations are no machines. I’ve got dumbbells and barbells (including squat rack).
Goals are to get stronger and look good naked. Been lifting seriously for about two years now, but had a few months off half a year ago from injuries and am still building strength back up.
My bench sucks (I’ve got a crappy chest - I like blaming genetics). I’m trying to reinvent my bench press as it hurts my shoulder. my incline db bench does not hurt my shoulder, neither does any of my pressing. It is only flat bb bench presses that mess with my shoulder. Dropped weight a bit and am working on tweaking form - making progress.
For the past month or so I’ve been doing a split like this.
Day 1: Legs
Back Squats (Pyramid)
One legged lunges (weighted, of course) 3 x 8-10
RDLs 3 x 8-10
Day 2: Torso
Pullups (good way to warm up the back muscles) 4 x 5
Flat bb bench 3 x 5 (very weak)
Power cleans 3 x 8 (thinking of lowering it to 3 x 6 or 4 x 6)
Incline DB bench 3 x 8 - 10
Bent over DB Rows pyramid
Pushups (Plyometric, weighted) 3 x crying like a baby
Snatch grip high pulls 3 x 4-6
Day 3: Shoulders/arms
Push press 8 x 3
klokov press 6 x 4 (used to do 3 x 8, but wrists suffered)
side lat raises 3 x 8-12 (light weights, slow movement long holds, much lactic acid)
reverse incline flies (rear delts) 3 x 8-12 (light weights, slow movement long holds, much lactic acid)
hammer curls 3 x 8-12
narrow grip bench (supersetted with hammers)3 x 8-10
bb curls 3 x 8-12
skull crushers (supersetted with bb curls) 3 x 8-12
Day 4: Martinis and champagne
Rinse and repeat.
