TPWiaB W19D5: Press

Seated Press: 165x3/3/3/4 (PR,) 135x9/5/4 (RP)
45 Degree Incline Pin Bench: 135x5/5/5/5/7
Pushdowns: Full Stack + 10 x10/6/5 (RP)

Solid day. Seated pressing still fells great and if I can add five pounds to that set of four then I’ll actually tie a standing overhead PR. I’m considering anywhere between my lips and chin as the bottom of the movement for consistency’s sake.

TPWiaB W19D6: Chin

Chins: 5x2@75, 25x10/5/3 (RP; PR)
Machine Rows: 5x8@175
Cable Curls: 130x12/8/5 (RP)
Facepulls: 100x13/8/5 (RP)

Chins were off today, might just do doubles going forward since this is already the second week I’ve been at 75 Lbs. Counter-intuitively, I followed that with a PR on the backoff set. Squats tomorrow, then a Deload.

TPWiaB W19D7: Squat

Squat: 3x345 (PR,) 2x355 (PR,) 3x1@365 (Volume PR,) 10x315 (PR)
Leg Extensions: 170x16/8/5 (RP,)
Leg Curls: 130x16/8/5 (RP)

Now this is how we finish a fucking cycle, people. Channeled my inner @atlas13 on that last AMRAP.

Fuck yeah man, hitting that backoff set after your top sets is just nasty work! Great job

Nice set, that last rep looked appropriately miserable. How you liking those knee sleeves?

That’s probably the slowest a squat rep has moved in a few months lol. There was no way I was gonna let myself finish with 9.5 reps though.

Definitely worth the purchase. They’re horrible to get on and off, and if I were to train my calves at all I have no clue how they’d fit lol. But once they are on, they’re much tighter than the ones I used to use and my squat feels great in them. Still getting used to where depth is when I’m wearing them, but judging from the video that’s going pretty well.

Bench: Easy 225x1, 245x0
CG Pause Larsen: 3x5@135, RP-ish Rests
WG Pull-Ups: 3x8

Was pretty certain I’d be able to grind out 245 given the speed on 225, but oh well. We’ll get there when we get there.

Front Squat: Work to 285x1 (25-Pound PR)
Leg Extensions, Back Extensions: 2 Easy Sets Each

Your guess is as good as mine. Pretty sure it took me longer to get on the sleeves than to warm up to hitting this lol. Rack position looks good though, and technique held pretty solidly.

Seated Press: Work to 185x1 (10-Pound PR)
Incline Pin CG Press: 3x5 (V. Short Rest) @ 135

Not a good angle for judging ROM (I promise it’s to the same standard as 165x4 from last week - basically kissing the bar at the bottom,) but I’m happy I was able to grind this one out. 15 more pounds until we’re caught back up to my standing press.

Foreshadowing: I’ll be squatting and chinning tomorrow so that Sunday is open for something absolutely fucking stupid.

This is what we like to see. Two PR’s today, absurd vision quest tomorrow, might actually just take Monday off and then head into the next cycle.

Too easy is right, my dude—well done!

Holy shit I’ve fallen behind in your log. It seems like every post has a PR in it. Awesome stuff in here

@SvenG

Thanks! Honestly, that was not an easy rep, but I appreciate it lol

@boilerman

Yeah, it’s been going really well! And you’ve also been crushing it dude, especially with your squats. And fatherhood lol.

W20D7: Bike

Sadly, my plans fell through. Will see about rescheduling later this summer so that we can get one more side-character cameo before I head back to school. Just an hour and fifteen minutes or so of biking today, and we’re gonna pretend that I did the squats/chins across two days like I was supposed to. Deload over, new cycle starts tomorrow.

Also, 20th birthday today : )

Couldn’t sleep last night, was the first person in when the gym opened and knocked this out in ~45 minutes. Once again, benching felt mysteriously good.
