@boilerman

Yeah, the first day of the week was definitely the worst - if you do all 200 dips, you’re looking at almost 500 total reps in a single workout. And like you said, the squats are just horrible.

I spent some time trying to figure how I wanted to break it up, but figured that it would pretty much just as bad either way, haha.

Squats: 5x45/135/185/205/235/265, 20x135
Press: 10x5 @ 105
Chins: 5x5 @ +35
Pull-Aparts: 4x25
Shrugs: 10x135/185/225/275/315, 5x315/365 (Power), 3x455 (Power), 10x315, 27x225

Squat-BPA, then Press-Press-Chin, then Shrugs, then the widowmaker

Ended up forgoing the last AMRAP I had planned because the shrugs fried my lower back. I’m probably going to end up doing them in a more reasonable set/weight/rep scheme when the squat widowmaker weight gets higher, but for now, power shrugs are stupid fun.

Only other thing of note is that I mixed the grips during the press sets, alternating between my normal grip (outside of my hands is just inside the rings,) a medium grip (one thumb-length from the knurling) and a close grip (one thumb-joint from the knurling)

No dinner photo tonight, because my father threw out all of my food and then proceeded to spend the better part of an hour berating my mother and I for being a cunt and faggot, respectively, threatening to kick me out of the house, and throwing cookware.

About 35 days until I hopefully leave here forever. God knows why I’m writing this here, where it’s now tied to my full name and un-deletable.

I’m just going to go to bed. BTM is obviously getting backburnered.

Hang in there bud.

Based on everything I’ve read in this log so far, I think you’re a very talented and driven person. It’s a shame that your dad doesn’t seem to see it.

I promise your life will change once you leave and step out into the wider world. Just don’t forget what T3hPwnisher wrote at-

Thank you both for that, guys.

Dude, no joke, if you can get out of there early, keep in touch. If you need gear, I’ll send you a set of kettlebells like what I just used. If you need food, it’s national hot dog month and I can send you a piedmontese order of hotdogs and summer sausage so you won’t even need to worry about cooking it. You’ve got support.

So much this, @creative_name. You need something, you holler. For real.

That’s such a nice offer, man. The lengths you’re willing to go to to help people are extremely commendable, so thank you.

I really think it’s in my best interest to try and ride out the last month here, though. I doubt I’ll actually end up getting kicked out (it’s been the go-to threat since I got too physically large to be easily shoved around,) and maintaining the status quo would leave me - at least in theory - with a place to return to if things don’t pan out.

If it comes down to it, though, I have some friends nearby who would probably let me stay a night or two with them, and there’s always youth shelters. I have a decent amount of money on-hand, too.

Just going to echo what everyone else has said so far… you seem like an extremely hard working person with a great attitude. I’m very sorry to read what you’ve had to go through, but am relieved you have options for distancing yourself. Like pwn said, reach out if you need anything or just to vent.

There’s a very slight silver lining here, in that the food actually didn’t end up getting thrown out. In light of that: lunch.

I’m going to switch from buying in bulk to just getting eggs/meat every day on the way home from work, since that’s what precipitated the argument. More expensive, but not exactly a choice at this point.

I know this is none of my business, you don’t have to answer but did you bulk shop with your dad’s card?

Yep, I’ll hop on this. Moving up to the VA area in like 6 weeks, you need anything just gimme a shout.

I get messed up families, it’s tough. Sorry you have to deal with it.

Nope, using my own card/money. I’m working over 40 hours a week right now, earning 15.65 an hour.

He was mostly pissed over space in the fridge being taken up, although it’s really beyond the point. Pretty much whatever anyone here does, something like this is going to happen once every couple months. Rinse and repeat for decades. More often if he’s drinking more heavily than usual.

I’ll definitely let you know. Incredibly kind offer, thanks.

No idea how you guys end up with the whole “meathead” reputation, honestly.

We take care of our own dude! Last thing you ever wanna do is come up on an ogre clan unprepared. We’re ugly, dumb, angry, aggressive, and will demolish anything that threatens us. You’re in good company, and we can’t wait to see you grow.

Run (Road) - 2 Miles in 16:55

Mile 1: 8:32
Mile 2: 8:24

Seven-ish miles of walking to delay my return home.

Actually, it did. He waited for me to leave for work, then grinded four pounds of ground meat and 30 eggs into the brickwork of his patio, left it to rot in the sun for eight hours, and is now having me clean it.

Same, rational actions taken by someone with over 50 years of life experience.

Bonus points for the malicious creativity, though. It’s a level of pure spite I can only hope to one day rival.

If I were to want to begin studying philosophy, do you have any advice for where I should start? Maybe an overly-general question, but honestly, I don’t even know enough about the field to ask anything more specific.

I may end up taking/auditing a 101 class next year as an elective, come to think of it.
