I’ve read some previous posts on this and have a little question to ask:
Is suplementing with creatine while trying to lose fat a good idea? If so, should you up the dosage or keep to the lower dosage as shown by some studies (how the industry recommended quantity of creatine may be overkill and much lower amounts are sufficient)?
My approach being that, as my goal is fat loss and the preservation of lean mass, will the creatine help at least preserve if not gain lean mass while exercising. Water retention is not an issue as I want a healthier body composition. Being defined is a later goal.

IMO creatine is great any time but even better while hypocaloric. Your likely limiting carbs and glycogen depleted and well short on consumption in general so the added hydration and ATP stores from creatine supplementation should allow you to keep intensity up just a touch in wrokoutds allowing that one extra rep or few more lbs that are a HUGE benefit while trying to preserve LBM.
