Creatine gave me 5 pounds of lean mass. I hate it! Make it go away!
Tsk. To the OP, don’t load, and if you aren’t, take it at half the dosage and see if you still get the side effect. Drink 1 or more gallons of water per day.
That’s about all I know as I’m a responder, unfortunately.[/quote]
Ha ha…smart ass. Yeah I would hate to gain 5 lbs of lean mass too. Nah, I wasnt loading. I was taking 5 grams a day. Maybe if I start taking 2 grams a day until my body gets used to it. I might try that and see how that goes. I easily drink enough water so that shouldnt be the problem. Like I said I usually drink at least 3 64 oz cups of water. That a gallon and a half right there since a gallon is 128 oz.
This is so frustrating. I tried taking just half servings of the creatine (2.5 grams) and the same stuff still happens. I took it at 7:00am this morning with my post workout shake which consisted of 40 grams sugar (nesquik) and 20 grams whey. At 9:00 I can already start to feel the numbness in my feet and calves. What the hell is wrong with me. I want to take this stuff because I notice better energy but I cant stand this weird feeling…it also cant be a good sign that I get numb feet and lower legs. Am I doing something wrong here??? I also eat a good breakfast at about 7:45 that consists of a banana, cup of oatmeal, scoop of whey, and sometimes a handful of walnuts. Everything I can think of, I seem to be doing ok. I guess its just not for me.
The funny thing is that muscle creatine levels remain elevated for more than a month after supplementation stops. The reason that you’re having an acute reaction is beyond me.

Do you think it could be more mental than anything??? I mean I have always heard the rumors that this stuff is bad for ya but I have never really bought into any of that. But maybe somehow it creeped its way in there. I dont know though, it doesnt feel like a mental thing.
How soon after you start creatine can you feel its effect on your body…if by chance this was some sort of reaction I am getting. Could it be as instant as it seems to be in my case???
But in the case of creatine, even authors from this site have been quoted as saying that as long as it is 100% Micronized Creatine Monohydrate, you are fine. That is what I have. I forget who the author was, but I believe that it was Berardi that said it. Like I said, I cant remember for sure who it was, but I know it was said. So I dont think that the creatine itself is causing it just because of the brand.
I just got to thinking, are you allergic to anything? Sometimes the supplements are processed on equipment that has stuff you may be allergic to, like peanuts, soybeans, etc.
Just a thought

To my knowledge, the only thing I am allergic to an antibiotic called Ceclore. I dont see why this would be processed on equipment used for processing antibiotics…but maybe I guess.
Don’t mean to hijack but I didn’t want to start a new thread with similar probs.
I stopped taking creatine 11 days ago and my itching gradually decreased to almost zero over that time (I also stopped the Alpha Male). I took 5g yesterday after a workout and within an hour or so I got the itchies back.
I suddenly remembered I hadn’t drunk any water and I thought that may be the problem so I downed several glasses of water and the itching subsided - but then I felt nauseous for a couple of hours - Go figure?
I’m still off the Alpha while I try to nail the source of these probs.
side effects of creatine use may include people asking you in the locker room if creatine will show up on steroid drug tests, an increased max power clean, and lectures about how creatine will kill your liver.

Its a known side effect. On almost all creatine bottles, there is a warning for this. I have a bottle of creatine from another company, and describes it like you are saying
