I’ve always heard that Creatine Serum or Advantage or whatever it’s called contained no creatine. One of the studies that Doug Kalman talked about confirms this.
Many people I know swear by the stuff though. These people have taken powdered creatine before, but they say this liquid is better. Any idea what could be in this stuff that makes it so good? Obviously it’s not creatine. Is it possible that creatinine (yes, I know it’s a waste product) could have some ergogenic benefit?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
I read a passing comment by Pat Arnold recently that referred to a new notion that perhaps even creatinine has some slight benefit as well, albeit nothing like actual creatine.
I attended a sports nutrition seminar with Tom Incledon last year. He said Creatine serum was too unstable and not as effective as powder.
It’s probably the sugar in the serum that’s causing the ergogenic effects. Something you can obtain from eating jolly ranchers before a workout.
