Whe i take my creatine is it alright if i just put the scoop(1 tsp) in my mouth and take a drink and swallow it like a pill instead of putting it in my drink and shaking it up? I ask this bc the creatine doesnt dissolve in my gatorade and makes it very difficult to get all of it down. It all settles at the bottom and it takes me awhile to consume all of the creatine stuck in the bottle(constant refilling with water to wash it all out of the bottle).
Please PM me before you try this. I would love to get a firm date and time from you so I can be there to see the look on your face.
Just shake your bottle before you drink it. Then shake it again–before you drink it again. If there is a little left, mix in some water and shake it again.
And I’m not sure that creatine degrades so fastr that you can’t mix it and drink it over the course of an hour or so workout. I know the liquid creatine is garbage, but I would want to see some more scientific studies that show creatine degrades so fast that you can’t premix your PWO.

Wow! If you can handle the taste and can stomach putting creatine alone in your mouth. More power to you.
Here’s what I did when I needed to mix it with gatorade.
Don’t mix the creatine until you are ready to drink it.
Get a shaker bottle. I gaurentee if you shake the gatorade and creatine in a shaker bottle it will be alot easier to drink. If it settles shake it again.
Try something other than gatorade. Grape juice, OJ, any juice. My favorite is NTS muscleade.
OJ is a no no. As is any fruit juice really as not only does citric acid affect the creatine mono (maybe CEE too - not sure as there have been zero studies to date) but fructose is a poor delivery mechanism. It basically need to be converted in glucose before being able to be used by the body. Ive read articles claiming different but again, if there aint concrete proof (Well designed studies) - net articles mean jack.
I use the micronized creatine by dymatize, anyway i dont think it tastes that bad. It really doesnt have much of a taste, but it does stick in my mouth for a little bit. What if i mixed the creatine with a protein recovery drink, I can’t remember who they are made by, but I usually get them at Gold’s after I lift. The one i tak eis called “Mass Recovery”

Can anyone find the link for the article that explains the amount of creatine that should be taken on a day to day basis? It talks about creatine in general. thanks!
GO ILLINI!
I have not read many of the other posts so forgive me if this was already asked.
How old are you, and what are your statistics, height and weight?

Biotest, and it’s called Surge.

Not all fruit has fructose, some has better sugars (for creatine delivery), hence people recomending grape juce.

Its not that bad. I use to do it all the time.
Its kind of weird and chalky, but then it starts disolving when you take a sip.

Agreed, i oversimplified things a little there.
Point is, is it as good as dextrose??

Would one still use creatine if one has too loose some weight for a competition? I’m concerned about the water rentention mentioned alot.
Depends - how long do you have and how much do you have to lose?
RSx41 wrote:
Is it normal for my creatine to not dissolve in gatorade? is it less effective if it does not dissolve?
GO ILLINI!
Just because no one has said it so far -one of the reasons you see such varied opinions on how much creatine you should use (in addition to individual storage differences) is because if it’s undissolved, you usually don’t get all the creatine out of the cup/bottle. In short, it will dissolve inside you, but if it’s not dissolved in your vessel, you’re probably not getting it all out.

Bloating is a side-effect from a creatine by-product called creatinine.
Any chance you could show me where you read that? I’ve never heard it in any discussion before.
Thanks

Bloating is a pretty commonly know side effect, but just so you know I have started using creatine about a month ago and have had no bloating, gas (well no more than usual) or really water gain.
I have however increased all my lifts 10 -15 lbs and have had a dramatic muscle size increase.

I thought bloating was only if you didn’t use creatine properly; no insulin reaction, etc.
Does anyone know how much CEE to use, in terms of teaspoons and/or mL? Or the density?

Oh, I know bloating is pretty common, but I’ve never heard any talk of creatinine being the specific cause. Usually people who mention they have bloating were taking a brand that included a lot of other stuff with the creatine.
