You could get one from rogue for less
I would have to actually give his a try before I could give it a vote. If it works, it’s not a terrible price, especially for the convenience of having it now.

Funny you say that because that is exactly what I e-mailed the guy. I asked him if he would consider dropping to $650 just because it is clearly homemade, no warranty, I would still have to buy the strap for it, and that rogue sells theirs for cheaper. However, you still have to factor in the no shipping cost of the guy selling on CL.
Is this an exercise that everyone should be doing, regardless of cost? Or is it just a nice bonus type thing? I’ve heard such amazing things about it, but am wondering if it is really necessary.
I say that the reason why a reverse hyper cost $2000 is because that’s how much it’s worth. I am incredibly satisfied with my purchase, and wish I had made it years ago. This and a safety squat bar are must haves for every gym.
The joy of the reverse hyper is that you can hammer your lower back without loading it. Doing things like heavy squats and good mornings/deadlifts, though effective lower back builders, can really compress the lower back and cause pain. Reverse hypers will give you a terrifying lower back pump without actually having to have the weight crushing down upon you. It’s a great assistance exercise that you can fit in to any training session, and the results you’ll get after a few uses are amazing.
After using mine for a few months, my deadlift technique has really changed, to the point that my lower back actually overpowers the rest of my body. I’m feeling very bulletproof whenever I train.
I have access to a reverse hyper and while it is useful, I wouldn’t call it mandatory. If you don’t have a GHD/GHR, I’d get that before this.
