Is that all you guys have? What about what happens when they try and rejoin society? Well they can rejoin it or break the law again and A) go into a mental institution, or B) go back to jail. I believe that faced with that reality, they will sober right the hell up and not want to go back to jail. In fact in my “perfect world” if you are convicted of RAPE, Murder, or 3 felonies, you never get the chance of parole. 1st degree murders are always sentenced to death.

Majority of third strikers are again drug possession, non-payment of child support, and shop lifting…in a predominately poor segment of America…so you’re basically putting all odds against them that they’ll go to jail…involuntary and while trying to survive.

What is the crime rate in some of those hard core asian countries where they chop off your hand for theft and lock you up for 20 years for any drug related offense? I guarantee you that percentage wise by population, it is a lot lower there.[/quote]
Of course, because they don’t spend billions of dollars to charge the youth of their country with drug possession.
