@countrygirl2016 saw this and thought of you. We have a saying: they breed them tough up the top end.
BTW, top end refers to north Queensland and the Northern Territory, where our big saltwater crocodiles like to hang out. Also sharks. And water buffalo. And shitloads of snakes.
@bulldog9899 the older I get the less I care about age because I know I’m not old but I sure feel like it! I have a harsh opinion and higher expectations for myself and want everything now
Arnold Press 15lbs 3x12 (my hand trimmers hate this exercise but I got them in)
Smith Machine Bar Squats 95lbs!!! 3x8 (notice I specified it was a machine but I’m extremely pumped at the weight increase)
Lat Pulldown Wide 60lbs 2x12 75lbs 2x12
Landmine Press 55lbs 3x8 each arm and together (left arm could only do 2x12 alone)
Workout was all over the place again because it was a crazy busy time of the day. I’m so freakin sore but happy with my progress. After more time of getting comfortable with the new gym and exercises I’m sure I can make a better plan. I wrote out my workout and had a backup plan but guys were taking over everything.
Now making a killer protein shake I’m such a pro these days!!!
@BOTSLAYER it’s not that complicated but in the beginning I wasn’t sure how much of each to use so it would taste good. I don’t add fruit because I like it to taste like a milkshake and not healthy.
EDIT: took picture off this post!
Fill a red solo cup with ice almost to the top and put it in a blender (generic Walmart one is what I have)
I add the light vanilla almond milk which I couldn’t tell you how much because I go off looks in my blender. The first time I added a little milk and my shake was an icy so I added more until it was smooth.
Full scoop of protein (I LOVE MINE, awesome flavor)
Tablespoon of peanut butter
I pulse it to break up the ice really good and then use the milkshake setting after. I think the most important thing is a good tasting protein powder. Mine taste like Apple Jacks cereal and adding peanut butter makes it perfect!!!
It sounds weird, but if you’re looking for a shot of nutrition, add a handful of spinach to your shake. I never would have believed it, but it really doesn’t change the taste very much. A classic shake that my wife and I really like is about 8-12 ounces of almond milk (don’t really measure closely - I only know this because my blender actually has markings on the side), one big handful of spinach, one big handful of frozen berries, and one heaping scoop of protein powder. Another which you might like as a PB fan - a frozen banana (break into a few chunks, then freeze) with a scoop of PB and a scoop of protein will be incredibly smooth and thick.
@ActivitiesGuy that does sound so weird but I’m really EXCITED to try it I’m going to the store this weekend to get the stuff for both of those!! I’m willing to try whatever and was looking for a change. Do you have a specific protein flavor you like?
I’ll stay away from discussing specific brands as this is a supplement website and it’s kinda bad form to discuss different brands, but in general I’m a bit of a natural-whole-foods kind of person so I look for brands that have a few ingredients: whey, stevia, and some sort of natural flavoring (there are brands that make their “Strawberry” flavor using actual freeze-dried strawberries, for example).
The banana-PB shake works fine with just about any flavor: vanilla, chocolate, or even banana protein. You can actually add some spinach to that one, too, and it really doesn’t change the flavor much (although it does make the shake look like you’re drinking mud, haha).
In berry shakes I generally like either vanilla or strawberry protein.
I also make shakes with frozen mango or frozen peaches, and those are best with vanilla protein, IMO.
@ActivitiesGuy oh shit I shouldn’t have taken that picture!!! Ahh I’m so sorry and feel like an ass. For forgiveness I’ll look into buying some products off here.
Thank you for adding what you look for and like! I like that mine is fat metabolizing whey protein and yummy!!!
I don’t think it’s a real big deal and the forum guys are generally OK with it, but sometimes they will get a little prickly (understandably so) at discussion of other supplement brands in these forums.
