Countrygirl 2018 Log

Hey everyone thank you for the much needed entertainment and thoughts!

I can’t tell you how many appointments I’ve been to and the run around I’ve gotten. What I learned is that my pain is due to female issues which I will not go into with mostly guys on here. I’m not completely out of the woods but happy to now know what needs to be done to get me moving again. It’s crazy how different pains can be related to issues you would never think about.

It sounds like I’m going to be on the injured list for even longer then expected until my treatment is finished. I am so ready to get back at it that it will be hard to hold me back

@girlgotguns Much better knowing what needs to be done to fix this! I think the doctor has a good plan and am just ready to get it started. I’ve been off work all week but hopefully by next week I’ll feel relief to get back to some normal.
Thank you

Hope you’re feeling better! You’re welcome anytime to chow down. I am a housewife now. My husband and I eat very different diets so I spend lots of time in the kitchen. I swore to him, I’m not a fry cook like my family, so he bought me a splash guard. Bacon is sizzling right now in my big lodge skillet. Lol

@mortdk thank you! I agree… it was just so aggravating and wasn’t making sense. I am thankful for moving forward :slightly_smiling_face:

@girlgotguns I appreciate it! Yes I am doing well since they have me on meds that take it from stabbing pains to a dull ache. So much better! It is such a process for them to prescribe any meds for pain but I don’t like taking anything unless needed. Sometimes I wait a little too long.

When I fry anything it’s a painful process  I love cooking but make such a mess! Also people who post food pictures on here make it look fantastic… mine however is not so pretty! I might try to make something more technical this weekend. I’ve never made shepherds pie but like it. I have a freezer full of meat from the farm THANK GOD for that! It is so expensive from the store!! What are you fixing today?

I made sourdough waffles for breakfast which have disappeared btwn the two of us. He has meetings all morning so that’ll tide him over until lunch. I’m on second breakfast of two eggs and a piece of homemade oatmeal maple bread with a banana and orange. For lunch I’ll be firing up the grill for some cedar plank salmon, grilled asparagus with olive oil. Not sure about dinner, yet

Lamb shepherds pie is a whole heck of a lot more expensive so I make it either way. I use the pioneer woman’s recipe for mashed potatoes on top. Oh the glorious calories.

@mortdk and @littlesleeper here are a couple of new pictures. I haven’t got into turkey hunting because when I taste the meat it’s extremely wild tasting. I am not killing a turkey without saving the meat! If I could figure out how to cook it I would go for it. Beautiful pictures though!! My brother in law is all about it and a good cook.

So do this mean that you’re not well but you’re also not injured? Will you be able to train without having to fear that you’re making things worse?

The lady who helps my primary doctor had some serious pain in her lower abdomen area for an extended period of time. She even had an ovary removed and it still didn’t fix the problem. As a last resort she found a chiropractor who does dry needling. She had it done on her psoas and it provided instant relief. She tried so much other stuff and in the end it was as simple as a few needle pokes. She’s the one who referred me to the same chiro for my hip.

Glad you stopped by to check in with us!

@girlgotguns I am going to look that recipe up now!! Thank you for letting me know :slightly_smiling_face:

If you want the under potato part I can write up my recipe. With pw recipe…I use 2.5 lbs of potatoes so I cut her recipe in half

@Frank_C THAT IS AWESOME!!! I appreciate you posting that information  It is worth looking into before anything extreme is done. Small steps is what I would prefer anyway.

I am happy I stopped by too and that you did! They didn’t specifically say I can’t train but I am scared to do anything that might add pressure and hurt.
