Thats one of the reasons why I enjoy my job at the moment, work with a wide range of people, young, old, foreign. Always interesting to hear their stories, opinions, and life lessons(Mainly from the older generation).
@theonecamko itās great that makes you enjoy your job and that you take time to listen to them! The older generation are happy to share their stories but people donāt take the time to listen to them anymore. I volunteered (singing) at a nursing home and some of those elderly people couldnāt tell you what they ate for lunch but could talk about their past like it just happened. They would never complain about their hardships but were proud of where they came from. I am extremely sentimental and could go on forever about this topic⦠![]()
haha I have this one guy who saw combat in the Vietnam war who talks about it like it was a vacation, but complains about everything involving his daily living today.
@theonecamko YES!!! Iāve met plenty of veterans like that and I enjoy the challenge of bringing them out of their sour mood.
Its definitely a challenge, but very worthwhile I agree. I tried asking this guy in particular to name one good thing that happened to him that day and he said āWell, I went to the diner this morning like usual for coffee and toast, but this time I noticed a new waitress. I swear to Christ, she had the biggest tits I have ever seen. Eyeing those puppies was the best thing that happened to me in 5 years. Now I get to see em every morning!ā whatever works i suppose, I laughed my ass off about it later.
Edit: I didnt ask him again after that. Figured that is what I would get every day.
@theonecamko BAHAHAHA
I donāt think I would be asking again after that!! I wonder what you will be like when you are old⦠maybe like him?!?
Nah, nothing wrong with tig bitties, but im more of an ass man. Iām honestly more grizzled than he is at this point haha, like I said he talks about Vietnam like a vacation. Enjoyed every second over there, said if he could go back and fight those bastards again he would.
Physical therapy was great today! I love the way they teach me how the body works and why things happen. I have plenty of homework to do and am really going to crack down doing whatever it takes. I am praying for progress and motivation to push me along. I want to lift as soon as I can and get muscle tone back even better then before ![]()
I have a request: Please post a song that motivates you to my log!! Iām having a hard time finding something good.
@theonecamko Freakin Awesome!!! Iāve never heard that song before but Iām very much into it. Thank you.
@Frank_C HA! Yes! Marilyn Mason is definitely a freakin weirdo!! I blare that song in my truck when it comes on and forget about everything. The other two songs are new to me but I am into them too. I play the songs posted on my log a lot as I get ready for work. The more I hear them the more I like them. Thank you.
I like World So Cold but itās not an instant pick me up. It has a build up to it but that type of stuff really gets me going once it starts to hit hard.
The Boss motivates me, whenever Iām in a bad mood, blue mood, happy mood.
This is 11 minutes with a story, him telling about him and his dad.
Iāve lost count of all the times Iāve heard the River, so Iāll start with this. He starts his story about a minute in, itās really inspiring:
And this is why Mr. Springsteen is āThe Bossā.
In 1988 he was i Copenhagen giving concert. One day he walked the pedestrian street of the capital. Saw a street performer, went to him borrowed his guitar and gave a couple of songs. It was before the mobile phone era. But one lucky guy was there with a videocam.
Not many superstars would do that:
Here ya go:
Die MF die by Dope:
Praise by Sevendust:
Jekyll and Hyde by FFDP:
And lastly, the classic; Walk by Pantera
I have a lot of songs that I use to get intense, hearing them is like pulling a trigger really
I have a lot of songs I feel that way about. There are many that I listen to at the gym and thatās it. I love working out to the hard music but when Iām driving I mix it up with everything!!
@mortdk Bruce Springsteen is really cool and the stories are awesome! I had no clue about that stuff until you posted it. Itās nice that he is so down to earth and as you said inspiring. Thank you for posting and with the details ![]()
