Counting Weight

when doing bench presses i always have tracked not only the weight i put on but also the weight of the bar (45 lb olympic bar, correct?) but for curl bars i just keep track of the weight added and dont include the weight of the bar. is this the right way to go about doing this? how much does an olympic curl bar weigh?

As long as you are counting the weight the same way every time does it really matter?

Yes thats right, and curl bar couldnt tell you on yours but I do beleive they usually are 20-25lbs.

the ez-curl bar at my gym weighs in at 31 lbs. Just take your empty bar and weigh it. Why add in one and not the other?

Why short change yourself on the weight your doing? Include the bar. I don’t know what would be worse, someone adding an imaginary 25 pounds to a lift or not including it.

D

don’t curl. problem solved

do more pullup and row variations

ohhhhh, nice ;o)

i belive a regular curl bar is 15 pounds and the heavyer ones are 25 pounds. just go weigh yourself at the gym. then weigh yourself holding the bar. thats what i do lol

Curling, in the Olympics, is done with a broom. It probably weighs a couple of pounds.

Count the plates and the bar every time. If you are lifting it…it counts!
