Did flip training. Lot of side flips and barrel rolls across a block. Worked some good backs in the pit. Tried them on pad. Fear seriously affecting performance. Landed a few fronts from ground onto a 4 inch pad a few times before cooling down.
Feel good today. Core is a little sore. Flips don’t leave me very spent the next day anymore.
I’ve decided to start tracking diet on here. Usually my diet is decent-ish, but several days of restraunts often break that. Seeing if this will help.

Took two days after last post to do jack shit and wreck my diet. Last time seeing girl before heading across state. I don’t want to list the pharmacopeia we assaulted ourselves with, so listing diet also seems rather pointless. Just no it was bad.

Evening jiu jitsu session, 45 minutes rolling with a brown belt. Got him with a modified leg trap off downward kaisigatame, and heel hooked. He got me…around 21 times…but who was counting…
Saturday/Sunday plans to train fell through, and a lot of old friends and fraternity mates showed up to tear apart my house for a proper Texas send off.

Finally got back in. Hit a boxing time across the street. Not real professional, a real ‘condition till u die and hit some pads’ ppl. But they had a few guys who looked sharp, so mebe an off day.
I moved somewhere a mile higher in elevation than home. HOOOOOLLLLYYY FUUUCK. Lifting weights in mexicos mountainous area was bad. Hardcore cardio/volume striking. Gahhdamb
Yeah, altitude is no joke! Once you acclimate to it though you’ll theoretically be at an advantage if/when you go back to a lower elevation.

I’m back. Getting everything coordinated for my TA stuff and classes has been hectic. Moved into a new apt, first time living alone.
After the boxing gym, I did a real light workout of just general moving. Yesterday I hit up winkeljohns public place, did wrestling for the first time, and a little bit of jiu jitsu stuff. All of it was basic, but drilled well and quick, coaches are very good. Class is fast paced with only 30 sec rest periods. Started seeing tracers but made it.
Today was striking. Footwork drills, little bit of back and forth partying, then two rounds of sparring. Erryonr is about 60-70% here. First guy was huge, like 6 4 270 huge. He landed about 6 Jan’s and a kick. I couldn’t get to his head but let him feel my shin about 5 times to the body and over and over to the leg. Sprawled a take down and reversed, but got up due to lack of energy and strength diff.
Second guy was shorter and moving real fast, but wide. He got me with a head kick once off a bend at the waist, but he didn’t throw to hard so I stopped it with forearm. Landed no punches. Kicked him cleanly in the head, and got a knockdown off a cut kick to the chest. Only landed jabs and a few light crosses. I was fucking ggggaaaaassseeed
Took the day off. Intend to restart the gymnastic bodies stretching tomorow. Not sure how the strength work will fit into my schedule tbh
Side note, I took pains to convince the ppl at this gym I’m a natural lefty, so I can train southpaw. Iv worked on dual stance fighting a lot, but now I’m in a gym, I want to put my southpaw stance through the fire so to speak. I was going to give it a year b4 I said anything
Did hardcore stretching for the first time in a week
Middle split. Flexibility stayed surprisingly well
Pulled my hip last Monday doing turning sprints. Made it through class, and another wrestling class Wednesday. Mostly healed. Going to try to start working out in the mornings. Lack of physical activity this last week has been shyte
On the other hand, wrestling is fucking cool
Been a month since I posted. Grad school is great, but a lot. Been training At an mma gym pretty consistently. A lot of wrestling/kickboxing, little jiu jitsu.
Hip is healed.
Only activity besides mma has been gymnastic bodies stretching 2-3 times a week, and random workouts.
Have been practicing takedowns a fuck ton.
