Hey mate,
I understand completely where you are coming from mate. I used to be skinny with non-visible abs and think that cutting would make me look better. I actually ended up with amazing abs but an eating disorder, and not a lot of muscle at all (girls just thought I was skinny).
Anyway, since then I learnt how to eat and train properly, and am now a lot more muscular ( 3 stone heavier). My abs aren’t as visible but I look a HELL of a lot better in a shirt as i have wider shoulders/thicker back etc.
If you are paranoid about your abdominal fat then cut for 3 weeks or so by cutting out carbs such as rice, more protein and fats, more water, compound lifts, and HIIT work.
HOWEVER, just like many of my friends who wanted to get “jacked” but were scared of putting a bit of fat on, if you always go for the “ripped” look you will never ever get a quality physique. Don’t worry about putting a bit of fat on, train hard (compound movements are best), eat a lot and regularly, and most importantly ( why i think a lot of guys fail) get plenty of rest and sleep.
After a year of clean bulking, (following the beginners section advice) people will start to comment on your physique for the better, even if you have slightly more abdominal fat!
Look at the guy’s commenting here and their physiques. Ever wanna compete!?? Then listen to them because even though they can be arrogant bastards they know what they are talking about.
Good luck mate.[/quote]
Nope not wanting to get ripped, just want to finally be able to faintly see my abs, and for my stomach to be flat, I don’t care about ripped. Sorry if I said 8-10% bf. Didn’t mean that. So helpful. Thank you man. Yep, probably will be cutting for a few weeks(that’s all I planned anyway.) I want to bulk more than cut. Matter of fact, if my stomach was flat, and didn’t look that bad, I wouldn’t cut until I reached 190 lb, and I’m only at 170 right now, with probably 5 lb being on my stomach ahah. But thank you again. very insightful. Yes, I do believe they know what they are talking about, I was just hoping someone would understand, and you did.
