Competed This Last Weekend

Here are my attempts at the Green Bay Push/Pull Powerlifting Meet. I was in the unequipped division and weighed in at 218.5lb. I haven’t trained since before I was married last October so I was pretty unprepared (ie fat and weak) and my lifts suffered because of it.

Bench Attempts

Deadlift Attempts

The meet provided good motivation to get back after my training though. Hopefully I can get around a 950 push/pull total by April.

Not bad for a fat, weak, married man.

What weights were those in the BP?

Are you supposed to lift the weights out yourself from the rack in the BP at those push pull events?

Good luck on the new total.

Pretty good for not training since October.

You have another comp in April? Good luck with your goals!

Bench attempts were only 275, 300, and 325. Everyone else had someone hand off the weight but I really didn’t need it since I was so unprepared I didn’t think it would matter. DL attempts were 500, 530, 555.

Nice lifts and cute kid! I’m sure the support helped out alot! Good luck with your lifting.

Great lifting and support, that’s what it’s all about.

Nice work you did more than most and put your self out there good show keep it up

Phill

Was it just me or were tose some long pauses in the bench? Nice job for not training, lazy ass.

Is sumo pulling allowed or do you prefer conventional?

What’s in April?

Good job man, especially after such a long break.

nice lifts .

I almost attended this meet , just to help out though . I think it was my training partner giving commands for the DL event . couldnt tell for sure though .

I might do Push/Pull in Milwaukee in April (?) .

I have torn cartilage in my right hip and can’t pull sumo anymore.

The press command was coming out pretty slow at the meet, so the pauses were super long.

As far as training my triceps I think that the real thing I need to do is just train since I haven’t at all for four months.

Good job man! Your grip is also pretty damn close for bench, you ever widen it up a bit? I’d also agree that those were LONG pauses, much longer than needed lol. Good job with the deadlift, I’m sure once you start training hard again you’ll get a 600 dead, and close in on a 340 paused bench!
Good luck to you!

You doing any strongman this year?

And, really, I can’t call you lazy. I just went through a stretch of lazy/poor workouts. I need to get out of my rut.

I think I’m going to do Ford’s in June and I might try to do Big Tony’s this year as well, depending on my hips and training.

Right on man!

You have a cool kid.

“Go Daddy, Go daddy” That’s awesome.
