The Prize

First person to film themselves attempting this (pass or fail) gets a free item of T Nation apparel (US48 only).

The Challenge

Do 25 unbroken reps of the goblet squat using 50% of your body weight. Example: A 200-pound man would use a 100-pound dumbbell or kettlebell.

Here’s T Nation contributor Eric Buratty demonstrating:

That’s a serious challenge!
I think the goblet squats would be harder even than front squats because theres some arm involved in holding that bell on the chest.

Not up for this at the moment and no access to a heavy enough bell, but go get em boys and girls!

Same. Don’t know if I can rig something up when I get home.

That is a super hard challenge imo. That dude is obviously fit, and he was shaking a little at the end; he hid it well though.

Just holding that dumbbell for that long would be too hard for me…forget the squatting part lol.

It’s been a loong day but, it did say… pass or FAIL. Which I did miserably. This was after I attempted several other “rigged” versions. I did get several sets in though just not 25 straight.:rofl::rofl:

I set the bar super low here.
As @punnyguy guy said, it was harder to hold it than anything.

I thought we already did this one?

(Not trying to claim the win, I already got my reward from the first time around)

Took awhile to figure out the setup. Already did 3 sets of 28 squats today, so what’s another 25?

End of the day so I’m up a couple pounds.

Tougher than I am. I tried it with 25lb plates first and it was tough!
May pick up some Gorilla tape and take another crack at this.

I tried several variations of setting up the weights before I settled on that one. I think figuring that out was the hardest part of the challenge :grinning:

Heavier on the bottom seemed to help, but not sure how well tape is going to hold. I was a little unsure about my clamps as it was.

A YouTube find. Crazy stuff.

The dumbell is 45 so I only need to tape a 5 and 2.5 on top and bottom. Surely the tape will hold that. I certainly wouldn’t trust it to press anything.
