How should I introduce carbs into my diet. I am planning on using the Don’t Diet routine. When Berardi recommends slowly coming off a ketogenic diet in his Appetite for Construction article in issue 150 he is answering someone who was on a keto diet for 1 year. Should I still take his advice and start off at only 10% carbs for the first two weeks, then 20% next two weeks, and then 30% next two weeks? It would be pretty easy I guess since I’d probably just take out some flax oils and add some peanuts and maybe 1 carb & protein meal (post-workout). What have other fasters had success with?
I had good results (after a 2 month keto diet) introducting 2 meals (breakfast and postworkout) as protein and carb and eating 3-4 more protein and fat for 2 weeks, then going to my current 3 p&c, 3 p&f. I gained very little noticeable fat. The alpha lipoic acid in the MD-6, and the fish oil caps probably helped too.
Yep, that’s how I’m planning to come off my four week ‘Fat Fast’. Can’t seem to source the glucosol and inzitol though. I think that John’s advice would be applicable regardless of the duration of ketosis.
