Come Back Kid...

Aight guys heres the deal…
About 2 years ago years ago I messed up my shoulder real bad in an accident…doctor told me I would never be able play football again (I played at Hofstra University 1-AA). Last year a freind brought be to physical therapy and the therapist told me my doctor was full of $hit and that all I needed was some PT.

A year later I am here, my shoulders in decent shape and I want to play ball again…I have all 4 yrs of eligibility because of a loophole with NCAA rules but I was kicked out of hofstra. Im 20lbs lighter than I used to be and ive gone from 4.2 speed to probably 4.4ish.

I want you guys to help me get back in shape so I can go back to another school (hopefully 1-A). Tell me what to do to get my size back (im a hardgainer), tell me what to do to get my speed back and give me any suggestions for keeping motivation and dealing with limited resources. Any help would be great.

et al?

Read some of the strength coaches on here, DeFranco, haven’t done his programs (yet), but from what I’ve heard is the real deal. Use money exercises (bench, squat, deadlift, chins, rows, etc.).

Nutrition is key, in my experience the big thing is just getting good habits, getting to the point where you almost never eat shit (soda, sweets, white bread, other empty carbs and fat), and feel guilty if you’re not eating five or six times a day. If you run a real 4.4 that’s pretty legit. Best of luck to you.

I think nutrition right now is the toughest part for me…Thanks for the advice on DeFranco

Maybe you should try to get an Olympic Lifting coach (or somoene to show you the basic + partial exercises).

I heard O-Lifting was real good for footballers and with the usual o-lifting volume, you might gain some good size in your legs (every exercises or so involves legs).

Oh yeah…and the big lifts (DL,BP,SQ and rows)

I can’t really offer much help, but I thought I’d drop in and offer good luck. I hope you make your comeback a good one!

Much appreciated

Buchberger 12 my friend, I had a seriously “loose” shoulder joint and some other problems, the buchbger 12 helped out big time, My shoulders have never been stronger. Use it before and after each workout.
