College

Hey, I am still in high school, but i was thinking about what i want to major in when i go to college. I want to obviously do something with nutrition or fitness. Any idea?

Don’t major in it; minor it it. And find a school that has such a program; I discovered last year that GA Tech most certainly does NOT.

At Penn State, we have Kinesiology as a major with three options: Movement Science, Athletic Training, or Teaching… wish I would have taken the MoveSci major instead of freaking business…

sorry, didn’t mean to put this in training… but i guess it could be considered training… maybe… or maybe not.

to those of you who i offend by putting this in the wrong category, i am sorry

knight- why do u suggest minoring and not majoring?

also, i am really looking for colleges on the east coast, so if you have any suggestions, let me know
thanks

My biggest regret was not doing a double major in something that could have got me a job (think; commerce, computing, engineering etc)
Uni is a peice of piss, so get your moneys worth and get as many qualifications as you can while you are there.
Trust me, im back there now wishing i hadn’t drunk so much piss the first time round and got a degree that could have actually got me a job.
Sorry for being negative, but dont do the fitness thing for the money, cause theres fuck all out there, especially if you have no bussiness skills.

Whetu posted a rather eloquent version of my reasoning.

I don’t want to toot my own horn…but “toot toot”

Do what I did…Double major in Biology and Chemistry, Minor in Mathematics (and undeclared minor in Zoology (based on university regulations)). Then go get your PhD in Molecular Phsyiology.

After that, you’ll have great background for whatever research, or vocation you want in Nutrition, or any other scientific field.
