Even though Florida has been arguably the best team in the second half of the season, I don’t know if you can officially rule Texas out quite yet. I think Florida will probably pass Texas, but coming out of the Big 12 South with your only loss and a win coming against a team going to the title game will be hard to ignore.

Anyways, I am headed to the BCS bowl selection party that Utah is having at Rice-Eccles Stadium. The results should be interesting.

Geebus,
I saw your OC is going to K State? How do you feel about that?

Ours is interviewing for the NMSU job. I’m not a fan of his offensive schemes or playcalling but he contributes in other ways too. Not sure how I’d feel about losing Schultz. [/quote]

I don’t mind Ludwig leaving. He was inconsistent. Half of the time, he looked like an offensive genius. The other half of the time, his play calling was terrible. Plays that come to mind are the many reverses that he tried to run on 3rd and 1, 3rd and 2 situations and snapping it to a halfback and having the halfback throw a deep ball on 3rd and 1.

I do wish him luck, though, and hope that he can bring K State back to being a football power.

Our biggest loss was losing our defensive coordinator to Utah State. I wish him luck, too.

As far as the Sugar Bowl goes, I can’t afford to make the trip. I am disappointed because it would be great to see Utah play such a storied program as Alabama.

I hope TCU plays well and beats Boise State. Are you going to San Diego?

Not going to make the San Diego trip for a couple of reasons. I’m getting the impression that we are not going to travel well for this game, which is sad. The date is a factor for some, who might make it on say the 27th or 28th, but I couldn’t go anyway.

That sucks you are losing your def coordinator. Why Utah State? Will he be the HC? People on our board wonder if NMSU could ever be very successful at the D1 level. It’s just too far from anything.

Your feelings about your OC mirror mine about ours. Way too much lateral, cutesy stuff. Way too much to the short side of the field. Too many QB runs. We do better when we open it up, like the BYU game where we went deep the first 2 plays.

NMSU doesn’t make any sense. Is that for an HC job?

Gary Anderson is taking the HC job at Utah State.

I am just hoping that the MWC makes a good showing. I’m not sure if I am going to watch the Colorado State game, but I will probably watch the BYU game. I think it is funny that there is snow in Las Vegas right now.

That’ll be a good game to see. But I think Alabama will kill them.

I’m not so sure. I’m intrigued by the matchup, really. I’m looking forward to see how Bama’s defense can stack up against Utah’s aerial attack. I do, however, expect Glen Coffee to have a hell of a day rushing.

Those Bama lineman are so freaking big and strong - I don’t think Utah’s defensive front can hang too well.

Schultz is interviewing for the HC job, if he gets it it would be a pay cut.

I don’t see myself watching CSU either, but they seem to be improving. BYU should kill AZ. AFA has already beaten UH, in the metrolplex, once already this year. UH didn’t travel that well the last time they played in FW bowl. I’m ready for the Boise game.

My pessimism towards OU in the title game continues to grow as DeMarco Murray and now DeMarcus Granger will not be playing in the big game. Granger is one of several defensive lineman that rotate in for OU so him not playing isn’t that big of a setback.

Murray, on the other hand, was OU’s big play running back. His replacement, Moses Madu, had over 100 yards against Missouri. Hopefully he can have another good game against Florida.

Oddly, both Murray and Granger did not play last year in the Fiesta Bowl.

TCU 17
BSU 16
Steven Hodge for President!!!
Got a non-suit on a case for my client. Life is good. Merry Christmas T-Nation!!!

Haha… I knew I was going to see your name next to the thread’s title when I logged on here. Congrats on your team’s bowl win.

Thanks man, Merry Christmas!

Oklahoma State’s defense looked solid last night. No idea how Oklahoma could have hung 60 on them.

Texas Tech looked real strong. 11-1 Big 12 apparently isn’t quite as good as 8-4 in the SEC.

Ole Miss just wanted it more than they did, Ole Miss played one hell of a game, but I wouldn’t throw the Big 12 under the bus just because of Oklahoma State and Texas Tech.

The two best teams still have to play, and puttin the SEC up is a bit premature this year (afterall, I don’t see Kentucky doing much against East Carolina right, they are losing to them as of right now 19-16). I can’t believe Arkansas would run Nutt off like they did, big mistake.

Kentucky is in the basement of the SEC and playing a 9 win team that beat West Virginia and Va. Tech. I would have considered Kentucky an underdog coming into this game.

Ole Miss looked like the better team overall. I don’t think this was just an any given day issue. TTU’s defense was porous.

But no; I don’t disagree with you, as Oklahoma made it obvious that TTU was a JV squad in the Big 12, so to make any inferences about Oklahoma (or even Texas) would be specious. However, (and I think we all knew this), the defenses in the Big 12 helped contribute to some of the huge offensive numbers we saw in that conference this year. I still think Florida/Oklahoma will be a great game.

Clemson played well. I had Clemson winning by a field goal, and that would have been the point differential if Clemson had scored on that last drive. Quite a heart breaker, but still not a bad showing at all. Much better than that other team from SC.

You aint kiddin that TTU’s defense was spotty at best. I just wish my team had a set of balls for a change on offense(that defense play lights out except for those two TD’s in the 3rd quarter) and how we still call Clemson/South Carolina a rivalry down here I have no idea.

We just keep embarrassing ourselves on national TV every year, but hopefully Dabo can turn that around (he is aggressive as hell and is a good recruiter).

On a different note, UTAH 21 Bama 3? Wow… did not see that one coming at all, Utah has showed up tonight

How about the Utes? I think this game really shows that there needs to be a playoff. After all, this wasn’t a mediocre Pitt team like 2004. This was a strong Alabama team.

Utah put a whippin on that Bama team tonight, stat of the night Bama ONLY had 208 TOTAL yards. Imagine if we had a playoff, even just a +1, you could see Utah and USC with a chance at it instead of Human Perception being responsible for the title game.

That was something else. Just home from the Uncle’s house, not a happy place!!! Congrats to the Utes on an excellent game and an excellent season.

They were trying to compare this team to the 2004 version. I don’t know who Utah played OOC but TCU was not in the conference and BYU had not switched coaches yet, throw in a win at the big house, a win over OSU, and a huge exclamation point on this season. I am very impressed at the job Wittingham has done. Didn’t the Utes have over 30 seniors graduate when Meyer left? Brian Johnson is the real deal.

Great game that TOTALLY surprised me!

You know what? I don’t want to hear ANY more whining from a D-1 school (from us fans, its okay!)…about being “screwed”.

The AD’s and Presidents had the opportunity to revamp this whole BCS mess, but instead decided to keep the system until, what, like 2012?

Think about it.

It’s doubtful that a Team with an undefeated record, and that is as impressive as Utah is, could ever be in the Championship Game because of the conference they are in.

I’m still hoping against all hope for a D-1 playoff some day.

Thats my team! Go UTAH!!!

We are not as good as Florida, OU, and USC…but damn we could at least hang with any of them.

We definitely shut up alot of Bama, SEC fans, and BCS analysts…and of course Saban.

I am stoked for my friends who were playing out there!!!

I wouldn’t be so sure of that. While Florida and OU are both deserving teams, USC, Utah, and perhaps Texas will all get jobbed here.
