Although, I will admit that chase has a shot just like anyone does.
Ball State looked great last night. They would be highly competitive with nearly any high school team in the country.
I’m getting nervous about today’s game. With Percy Harvin out due to the high ankle sprain and several others (defensive and offensive line) out due to injuries, this is going to be a tough one.
Nick Saban is a great coach and Alabama has done a great job this season. They have big, strong guys on offense and defense and a great running back in Coffee.
However, I think that Florida can pull this one out as long as they adjust accordingly throughout the game to Alabama’s different schemes and as long as we stop the run game and force Parker to throw.
Florida has relied on momentum ever since the loss to Ole Miss. That has been key to them. And this could be the first time since Ole Miss that they don’t score first or keep momentum going and even find themselves in a deficit and having to come from behind.
This could definitely be a game that comes down to the fourth quarter and whoever plays the best during that quarter. In all of Florida’s wins, they have destroyed people in the fourth quarter, but Alabama may be tougher than the others.
I’m still unsure if this will be a low-scoring defensive game, or if it will end up being a blowout game by Florida as they have done for the past 8 games or something more in the middle.
I had predicted a Florida 35-24 win, so we’ll see how it all works out.
Go Gators!
20-17 Alabama, I just think that Bama is gonna control the clock with that running game and a MONSTER Offensive line, but Florida will get their yards with the speed players (good god their fast). Now it could be a blowout with Florida putting 50+ on the board if Bama can’t stop their offense, but I don’t think Florida is gonna get as many offensive opportunities with Bama’s style of offense. Gonna be awesome to watch at 4 EST!

You do know that Florida’s defense has five starters that run sub 4.5s, right? Even with Bama’s big boys up front, we have a lot of speed to compensate for any size issues up front on defense.
While I always get nervous about games, and I still am, I like the way Florida matches up against Bama.
Florida wins, 38-21.

Yea, Florida’s D is damn fast, but if Bama runs their offense like they usually do they will still end up with 3-5 yards run all day long, and they would take that against Florida anyday of the week.
Granted, Florida is a DAMN good team who could beat the hell outta Bama any day of the week, but Bama will actually have a defense (unlike some of the teams Florida has played this year), still sayin 20-17 Bama.

Still amazed
Well, I hate to comment during a game, because there’s still time left, but I’m not liking what I’m seeing out of Tebow today. All of the chances are there, and he just isn’t making the throw. That is an issue that’s not easily resolved in one quarter.
That, and the Florida defense is stinking it up all over the place. For some reason the D coordinator has been trying to work the man coverage all day and is just getting beat.
:::::::::: EDIT ::::::::::
I was wrong. If OU holds on, that’s going to be one hell of a Championship game. Let’s hope we actually face Oklahoma, not Chokelahoma.
I like my Gators with Harvin and Ingram against ANYONE in the nation, though.

You spoke a little soon.
Good game, Florida scored 14 points in the Fourth Quarter. 4th Quarter was definitely won by Florida.
Woo Hoo! Go Gators!
SEC Champs!
Heading to the BCS game baby! Bring on Oklahoma.
And my prediction at the beginning of the season came true (Gators in BCS national championship game), and I came close to getting the score right for this game: 35-24 (my call) to 31-20.

Yup, good call for sure! I’m pretty intrigued by the Oklahoma match-up… that game is going to be CRAZY.
Oklahoma scoring 60+ points in five straight games is pretty impressive. I don’t really care who wins the title game, i just hope it’s a good, close game.

Not necessarily. Texas might still be ahead on the BCS. Personally, Texas should make it over UF since they beat OU pretty handily.

And Florida beat the #1 team all season by one more point than Texas’s win over Oklahoma.
Even though Florida has been arguably the best team in the second half of the season, I don’t know if you can officially rule Texas out quite yet. I think Florida will probably pass Texas, but coming out of the Big 12 South with your only loss and a win coming against a team going to the title game will be hard to ignore.
Anyways, I am headed to the BCS bowl selection party that Utah is having at Rice-Eccles Stadium. The results should be interesting.
Guess we’ll see what happens tonight with the BCS bowl selection.
I suspect that Florida and Oklahoma will be picked for the BCS National Championship game. It makes sense financially for the bowls, for TV ratings, for the fan base, for the idea of two of the nation’s top-scoring teams and for the fact that no one wants to see Texas vs. Oklahoma in the National Championship. ![]()
I am happy that we are playing Alabama.

That’ll be a good game to see. But I think Alabama will kill them. ![]()

Geebus,
I saw your OC is going to K State? How do you feel about that?
Ours is interviewing for the NMSU job. I’m not a fan of his offensive schemes or playcalling but he contributes in other ways too. Not sure how I’d feel about losing Schultz.
