Another ranked team goes down at home by an unranked opponent.
The playing field is definitely becoming more level in college football these days. One team can beat another team at anytime! Ranked or unranked. At home or away. It just doesn’t matter.
Should be some exciting games this weekend as well!

I am going to the Utah vs. Oregon State game tonight. I am nervous about this game because Utah usually starts slow; and if Oregon State runs the ball well, it will be hard to catch up.
Way to go Utah, represented the MWC well. Great comeback, exciting finish!
It was good to see them come back. OSU is a pretty good football team, even if their record does not reflect it.
Utah’s defense played their hearts out. The offense definitely needs to step up. Brian Johnson needs to make less turnovers and make up his mind quicker when he drops back to pass. The biggest problem, in my opinion, has to be Andy Ludwig’s play calling. He never seems to try to work with their strengths.

UCONN and Louisville just started. I’ll go with Louisville for this game (they have home field advantage), although, I believe UCONN could potentially win this game or at least keep it close. We’ll see how that goes!
Called this one wrong again! Should have gone with my gut instinct! Dang!
2 Oklahoma over 24 TCU (possible upset alert!)
8 Alabama over 3 Georgia I changed my mind on this one later in the day and decided to go with Alabama over Georgia - good thing I did!
4 Florida over Ole Miss
5 LSU over Mississippi State
7 Texas over Arkansas
9 Wisconsin over Michigan
12 Penn State over 22 Illinois (Zooker is struggling!)
13 USF over NC State (another possible upset alert!)
14 Ohio State over Minnesota (with Wells back, I don’t think Minnesota will have a chance of an upset).
15 Auburn over Tennessee
20 Clemson over Maryland
So I called most of these right except for the crazy upset of Ole Miss over Florida (which I should have known because anytime I attend the UF/Ole Miss games in person, Florida loses!).
With the above (including Louisville loss to UConn), I went 8-4.
Colorado over FSU (FSU is disappointing me this year)
Miami over North Carolina
Purdue over Notre Dame (Notre Dame could win this one though! But I’m going with the Boilermakers)
Nebraska over Virginia Tech (Go Cornhuskers!)
So I voted for FSU against Wake Forest, but they lose that one. I vote against them the next weekend against Colorado, and they do win! Same thing with North Carolina - I voted for them to win the previous game, but they lose! So I expect them to lose against Miami and they win! What the hell? Then, I expect Notre Dame to lose and hope that Nebraska has improved enough to win, and they both do the opposite!
I went 0-4 here!
So that makes me 8-8 for last weekend! That sucks! This season is so crazy it’s hard to make the calls and go more than .500 unless you really go on gut feelings or cheer on the underdogs!

From what I saw your playcalling has some similaries to ours, a lot of motion and lateral movement and not enough up the field stuff. Johnson does throw downfield well. I was really impressed with him in FW 3 years ago. I couldn’t believe he was starting and he was only 16 or 17 years old.
Most TCU fans love the defense but hate the OC and his schemes. Too much lateral, dink and dunk, misdirection type stuff and a fixation with the short side of the field.
I’ve got excellent seats for the SDSU game, and we play BYU in a week and a half.
I’m going to get a little crazy this weekend and call for a few upsets. Here we go with many of the top 25:
1 Oklahoma over Baylor
2 Alabama over Kentucky - Roll Tide!
4 Missouri over Nebraska - I’d like the Cornhuskers to upset Missouri, but I just don’t think they can do it this year.
5 Texas over Colorado - Don’t look ahead Texas! Watch out!
6 Penn State over Purdue
7 Texas Tech over Kansas
9 USC over 23 Oregon - Possible upset alert here! Watch out USC!
12 Florida over Arkansas - Don’t screw up Gators or look ahead to LSU next week!
18 Wisconsin over 14 Ohio State - Calling for an upset here!
19 Vanderbilt over 13 Auburn - Upset alert! Go Vandy!
16 Kansas over Iowa State
20 Virginia Tech over West Kentucky
21 Oklahoma State over Texas A&M
22 Fresno State over Hawaii
North Carolina over 24 UConn - Upset alert! Although, I’d like to see UConn win.
A few non-ranked teams going up against each other this weekend:
Michigan State over Iowa - Go Javon Ringer!
Illinois over Michigan - Come on Zook! Rebound after the Penn State loss and beat Michigan after their upset win over Wisconsin last week!
FSU over Miami - Come on 'Noles! Win a game for me this time. Although, I have a feeling Miami will win…we’ll see if I can call this one right since FSU does the opposite of what I predict!
Notre Dame over Stanford - Even though I don’t like Notre Dame, I believe they’ll win this one.

That is exactly it. He tries to run the ball outside too much. It doesn’t make any sense when you have a couple of big, talented backs that are downhill runners. I think their option works once in a while; but most of the time, I would rather them just hand the ball off to the backs and just let them go. I also think he tries throwing the deep ball and running trick plays too often. Their passing game looks the best when they run a west-coast influence spread offense.
Johnson does throw down the field well, especially since he his shoulder isn’t bothering him. I do think he was better three years ago than he is now, however. He is tentative running the ball because of his past injuries. I attribute this to his holding the ball to long. But I guess that I would rather put up this instead of having Johnson out with an injury.
TCU should easily handle SDSU. I think that they will give BYU a run for their money. That will be a fun game to watch.

Go 'Noles, I’ll say again, Wake Forest was a fluke filled with terrible calls (BS penalties) and we were still missing plenty of starters. The naysayers should appreciate how we look right now.
idk, y’all aint outta the woods yet, 31-22 right now, y’all better keep playin hard, Vandy and Auburn been at it over half the 1st quarter, Alabama gettin a fight with Kentucky, some interestin games today so far

TCU 41 SDSU 7
I got to sit on the 2nd row, 30 yard line. Could literally hear Coach Patterson chewing on a backup DB who blew a coverage. The backup QB started and played most of the way, he looked ok. The WR who threw the pass on the trick play against y’all in FW last year mopped up, he looks better than either starter. I look forward to the BYU and Utah games.
SDSU has got to be the worst team in conference, looked absolutely braindead and shell shocked all night. We fumbled on our own 1 yard line or they wouldn’t have scored. I’d think that w/ all the talent in that part of the world they’d be better in football and baseball. They are total underachievers in baseball as well, but I digress.
I had a great time tonight, made some new friends and saw some people I hadn’t seen in forever. Next stop Ft Collins, I was impressed that CSU beat UNLV.
OSU/Wisconsin game was great. I was really excited after the first drive, thought maybe Wisc was gonna have a mail it in woe is us performance after that hard loss last week. Defenses really started to take over though, and each team got a lot of tough yards between the tackles. Pryor running that option with Beanie on his hip is something OSU really need back in that USC game, man do I wish we could have it back.
I almost choked on those 2 late fumbles, luckily Pryor hopped back on his and Robiskie was there to cover up on Hartline’s cough.
Wisconsin is basically out of the race for any BCS bowl at this point now, they’d need the winner of PSU/OSU game to drop another 2 games down the road with all the ranked teams already done with. Not saying it can’t happen but it’s just very unlikely.
On that note, Penn State/Ohio State is looking to be a good one. PSU’s offense has looked so good this season, and OSU looks to be in good form with Beanie back and Pyror starting. Gonna come down to the defenses, and I still like OSU’s(biased), which I think didn’t get a chance to show their best in that USC game with their offense not giving them ANY rest time.
Edit: Just checked the schedule for that Saturday(Oct 25th) and ESPN Gameday could be in a ton of places tbh, all depends on the way the chips fall in the next few weeks before it, but potentially:
#6 PSU at #14 OSU (expecting OSU to be higher) #11 UG at #3 LSU (expecting UG to be higher) #21 OKST at #5 UT (expecting OKST to be higher) #7 TTech at #16 KU (Kansas higher maybe?)
LSU-Georgia seems like the best decision right now, especially with how awesome the bayou has been for Gameday; but depending on how rankings pan out any of those games could be solid picks. Also they have 'Bama comin to the bay the week after that, and Gameday only visits a place once a year, so they might want to wait for that game instead.

Sigh. You Buckeye fans just won’t let it go, will you? Your team lost. Lost badly. Pryor was the better QB, but even he couldn’t really stem the tide. Having Wells there would not have made that much of a difference.
You guys have the worst case of Big Ten goggles in the world. You start beating up on shitty Big Ten teams, get an over-inflated sense of confidence about the Buckeyes, then get shellacked by a good non-conference opponent, then come up with excuses, then start beating up against shitty Big Ten teams . . .
I made no excuses about the game, I just said I wish we could have it back, because trust me, fans outside Columbus aren’t the only ones sick of the way the Buckeyes have played in recent big games.
It’s not like I posted saying I think the win over Wisconsin means OSU is right back in national title contention, I just said we finally looked like a decent team again.

At least y’alls team is somewhat back on track, my team f’n sucks, and Bowden needs to go, and I hate to say this but for Bowden to go South Carolina woul dhave ot be us and that can’t happen and me be happy.

I did good this time calling for some upsets! Much better than before with a 13-2 record.

Woo hoo! Went 4-0 here.
This weekend’s record was 17-2. Sweet. Let’s see if I can do it again this week.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. Thanks, eic, you saved me a whole bunch of typing!
1 Oklahoma over 5 Texas
3 Missouri over 17 Oklahoma State - possible upset here. Oklahoma State could win it but it’s going to be very hard playing at Missouri.
11 Florida over 4 LSU - I’m tempted to pick LSU for this game but am hoping the Gators can pull it off at home now that they are ready to play and have most of their players healthy and ready to go!
6 Penn State over Wisconsin
7 Texas Tech over Nebraska - upset alert! Do it for me Cornhuskers! TT is overated.
8 USC over Arizona
9 BYU over New Mexico
10 Georgia over Tennessee
12 Ohio State over Purdue
13 Vanderbilt over Mississippi State
14 Utah over Wyoming
15 Boise State over Southern Miss
16 Kansas over Colorado
20 Auburn over Arkansas
22 North Carolina over Notre Dame - But I’m getting a gut feeling that Notre Dame might win this one. I hope not!
Northwestern over 23 Michigan State - upset alert! Although, I’m pulling for Michigan State to win!
I’m tempted to call a few more upsets than what I listed above, but I’m thinking that there may not be as many upsets with this weekend’s games as in previous weeks.
A few non-ranked games:
Illinois over Minnesota
Kentucky over South Carolina
Miami over UCF
OU and UT are playing about 30 miles away. One of these years I need to go check out the festivities. The city of Dallas spent a lot of tax payer money to refurbish the Cotton Bowl, after Jerry has built his new monstrosity in Arlington. That facelift on the stadium does not help the gosh awful ghetto neighborhood around Fair Park.
TCU plays at CSU at 2:30, should be a W, real test is BYU on Thursday. The fans are encouraged to wear pink for breast cancer awareness. The team will wear purple jerseys with pink letters. The baseball team wore pink jerseys on Mother’s Day.
