Boise recruits basically from every state west of the Mississippi, whereas LSU gets their kids mostly from Louisiana. While Boise does indeed have a good amount of players from Idaho, they’re stealing talent from other PAC-12 schools, basically recruiting PAC-12 talent.
So, in my mind, based on the caliber of program Boise is along with their HUGE swath of recruiting territory, they’re a at least a PAC-12 program talent-wise. I can rest my laurels on them being a top caliber program because they defeated Georgia in the Georgia Dome, not to mention big bowl wins over the last decade or so.
They’re much more competitve in the SEC than what people think, in my opinion.

Every time a big BCS school has come up on the schedule for Boise, everyone has said they would get their asses beat and “finally just end the discussion once and for all.” What has the outcome been for every one of those games?
Hell, the last few seasons, they haven’t even been able to play another major program in the bowl games (only other non-AQ schools). Maybe Boise should be given the chance on the big stage if you truly want to finally end the discussion once and for all.
If they can never be given the chance to compete for a championship, regardless of their resume year after year, why are they even allowed in Division I? Why are they even in the polls if #5 is their absolute ceiling?
Non BCS is 4-1, 5-2 if you count Boise’s win over TCU in the Fiesta.
I thought it was an embarrasment that those two ended up in the Fiesta together that year. I mean, it was a good game between two good teams, but they both go undefeated all year with everyone bitching about how they don’t deserve a chance at a championship or even a BCS appearance, and here is a great opportunity to place them against other top tier teams in a bowl.
But they are put against each other, in a rematch of a third-tier bowl from the year before, without a chance to even prove themselves against automatic qualifiers.

Next thing out of you figurative mouth will be something maligning about a 7 & 6 Big East champ.

Had this great plan that we were gonna play Florida in the Sugar. Was gonna detour through San Antonio and pick up this girl. So they send us to Pheonix, twice as far away and less favorable scheduling. Girl turned oiut to be a B---- anyway.

LOL, that’s right.
All of the above highlight the need for a playoff.
Okay, I am done helping you on your BCS rant. First, I offer up the platypus because it is freakin’ metaphoric genius. Nothing. Then give you the Big East set up. Nothing to write home about. That’s it! Come up with your own material. This gold is going back in the bank.

I hope Boise State gets a shot at Bama/LSU.BS has beat every single big time program they’ve plate in the last 3-4 seasons and every time people doubt them before the game. I bet they would do better than most people think. I think they would beat Bama (probably not LSU)
I think they might have beat Bama last year but they lost the only speed guys they had to the NFL and they did not have replacements. Plus there O-line is much worse this year.
Out of curiosity what exactly about their team do you really like? Besides their experience at QB?

Their experience all over really. They’re a solid football team from top to bottom that has proven they can and do win big games.
Their QB is ridiculous and will become the winningest QB in college football history by the time this season is done. I didnt say that they WOULD beat Bama I just said that I think they COULD. It would be a very good matchup I believe… coming down to the wire.
I’m not a Boise fan per say (big USC fan here) but I just have seen enough of their games against top competition that I believe they can hang with anyone in the country. Plus Chris Peterson has proven to be a great coach.
I would LOVE to see Boise State get a shot at the title this year. They’re gonna drop off after losing Kellen Moore leaves for the League, IMO.
I haven’t seen this one put out there yet. If Bama wins out and Arkansas beats LSU, that will put those 3 Teams with 1 loss each in the SEC and the tie breaker would be whoever is the highest rated BCS Team. Potentially putting Bama in the SEC championship game and the national championship game. The LSU loss wouldn’t have done anything to derail them! What say you?

I say your screen name and Avatar identifies you as a dude who could formulate pigeon shit and ice cream into a cobb salad if it meant Bama gets a shot at the crystal football.
Nothing wrong with that whatso-ever, but I’d have to say your opinion is a little skewed.
Plus, y’all don’t have a kicking game outside the 25 yard line. That much has been proven.

This could definitely happen, but if it does and Standford beats Oregon I can see them slipping into #2 beind OSU (assuming OSU beats OU). If Arkansas beats LSU, suddenly Alabama’s loss isn’t as ‘impressive’ to the BCS computer and they drop to #4 behind OSU/Stanford/LSU.
Obviously I’ll be at the Stanford vs. Oregon game this weekend over here at The Farm.
ESPN is also coming over to do GameDay at 6AM, and I’m definitely thinking about heading over for that. Have any of you hit up a GameDay cast before? I’m not worried about getting in the front or holding up a sign, more just wanted to see what’s going on, but thought I’d check with The Nation first.

BRO!!! You need to make a sign thats really clever… and maybe make the T in Stanford the “T Nation” T as a little shout out. That would be baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalin!
I’ve never been but if they were gonna be at a game I was going to I would be there fa show. And if Corso puts on the Duck Head you can throw something at him lol

Hahaha that would be epic. I just picked up a pretty bro-ed out red tank top from the Stanford student store that they made just for this game. It’s got a duck in the cross hairs on the front and the number 12 on the back with the words “Good Luck Hunting” in big letters under it.
Making a whity sign with a T-Nation shout out would be sick, but getting there at 3AM to make sure it would be seen probably won’t happen.
Watching Corso will definitely be fun, and could be the highlight, unless Erin Andrews saunters by…

Go, its pretty cool. I went when they came to the Arkansas - Tennessee game in 2006(?).
