Went to a couple of Gameday broadcasts in the late 90s at Nebraska. It was pretty cool, but not nearly as big as it is now. You’ll spend a lot of time just standing there listening to them talk and have only a couple of opportunities to actually cheer and jump around or whatever when they talk about your specific game.
However, if you are out of college and sober, you are probably too old and mature to be printing out clever signs and showing up at 3:00 a.m. to gawk at celebrities. Leave that for the kiddos. If you are looking for Erin Andrews, that might be fun, but I’m guessing at Stanford you’ll be tripping over tons of college chicks much hotter than her anyway.

When the Super Bowl was last in San Diego I went down to where they were doing live broadcasts. It’s pretty fun to do once. Being up close and personal with all the talking heads (including Emmitt Smith at that time) was pretty cool. Definitely answered the question of how they did that sort of thing live, etc.
